Finally got my squealing brakes problem fixed! They were extremely loud, hurt your ears bad if someone was stood near it.

Started off doing mostly it in reverse and after multiple visits to the dealer where they first claimed it was excessive use of regen they replaced the discs and pads which actually made it much worse and started happening going forwards instead.

Turns out MG has had loads of problems with this and have changed the compound in the brakes so ordered and fitted another set of discs and pads with the new compound.

This has worked! Thought I’d share for anyone else that has this problem.

Interesting... My car is a october 2025 build..the pads on mine I have noticed are making the disc surface quite a dark grey pencil lead colour...

I guess this could indicate a softer compound or something added to the compound to do with reducing noise.

Compared to my daily driver leased VW Golf..this discs are shiny bright on that as per normal. I know the pads are hard as hell as its coming up to 60k miles on the orignal brakes. (although they are looking very low on the pads now and the brake fluid not far off the minimum mark.)

I’ve noticed the same thing with the new ones. The discs have a dark grey mark where the pads are biting. On the mega squealing last set of new ones the discs didn’t have any markings from the pads.

I’m just glad it’s finally been resolved. It’s been going on since last November! It’s also restore my faith in the warranty. The dealership has been good once they realised it wasn’t a regen overuse problem. They kept cleaning them and they’d start doing it again within a few miles of me collecting it.
