XPower in the Snow

AWD is engaged in Sport mode and Snow mode. You get the full beans in sport mode, but the power is reigned in, in Snow mode, for obvious reasons. But neither mode work's in reverse, unfortunately. You also get AWD in other modes if you floor, the acceleration, but only, temporarily. Michelin also do a Cross Climate 3 now, which supposedly is even better. 🙂👍
Thanks for the explanation and the tyre tip!
Edit: cross climate 3 doesn't seem available for the mg4 wheel size

So, let me catch up here, does that mean we’ll soon have a Cross Climate for Each wheel ? Woohoo.

Who’s got that jacket today??

I have to say how impressed I was with how the car performed over the weekend, never got stuck anywhere or even felt like it was struggling, even had to stop twice going uphill with snow/ice on the ground and moved off again no problem.
Which tyres are you using? My experience uphill on ice was also beyond expectation, but only in drive, not in reverse.

Still on the standard Bridgestones, I know they come in for a lot of stick, but I've not had a problem with them so far with my style of driving.

Only AWD in drive, 2 WD in reverse
and in that direction the rear wheels are in front, that's the worst situation for grip.

Yep not ideal. But think most MG4 owners, know about it now. Especially if they come on here. So obviously reverse into spaces and your drive, (if possible) particularly if it's on an incline. 🙂👍

I always like to reverse into a parking spot - get the awkward bit over with then I can jump in and serenely drive off 👌

That'll be my new habit too. I've got my new Michelin Cross Climate 2 fitted yesterday. Tested them today from Montrose to Glen Shee. Felt confident despite some icy patches and occasional snow on the back roads.

Icy patches, snow, must admit that would intimidate me a bit, having no experience of it.

Our roads could get a bit oily before cars weren't allowed to drip oil. first winter rains brought the oil to the top and there was usually a crop of accidents, until the rain washed the oil away.

The real hot days seem to separate the oil out of the bitumen as well, then a shower of rain and some of the roads become quite interesting ..... watching the long triple and 4 trailer rigs along Mannum Rd between Murray Bridge and the X road that takes them onto finally reach the Sturt Hwy on the wet and oily road can be quite interesting .... preferably from around 50 mtrs behind ... not coming toward you  The back trailer never seems to hold the road quite like the others, if any of the trailers ahead of the very back trailer start to drift out on a corner ..... best watched from a safe distance ..... like in front of the computer screen ..... Being there to see the real thing kinda puts you off being out on the road at all after it has rained .....
