Xpower Stage 2 fix

There is another Australian member who had the fix and it hasn't cured the problem unfortunately
be interested what fix they actually had and what the problem was because mine was sub frame replaced, new bushes , motors out etc etc ..

There are claimed fixes for it such as steering dampener etc etc they do not work..

I can assure you the fix i had fixed the vibration in my car ..

On a maybe related maybe unrelated note ..

One of my motors has died in my car now and needs to be replaced ..

which is what the service department is telling me ..

Been with out my car for over 2 weeks now..

Think this is the turning point now i like my car but now its to much for a new car to have these issues especially dying motors ..

Here's the post, looks like the same part numbers

I've recently received my xpower back after having the '6. After-sales suspension solution:' completed. It has not fixed it. I think the magnitude has reduced ever so slightly but is now more detectable at lower speeds.

I have always been able to detect the vibrations from around 60kmh but only because I have felt them at higher speeds and knew what to look for. Now they are more noticeable and well detectable from 80kmh and still present at 110kmh etc.

Still felt through the steering wheel and the body of the car. Can still be heard in some stiuations.

I had the steering wheel dampener installed earlier in the year. 2023 build. Located in Australia.

Car was in the workshop for over a week getting the work done.View attachment 39959

agreed on the part numbers ..

I would say and im no expert but there will always be some sort of vibration
Put simply the MG4 Xpower is not a bmw or mercedes
So kerb the expectations.

It could also be a buckled rim one of my rims is slightly buckled ( but doesnt seem to be a issue )

Road surface will always dictate feed back though the steering wheel ..

Maybe tyres ??

That said im not saying he is wrong and should let it go but i can safely say after my cars fix it removed the Vibration/ drone that i was feeling though the steering wheel between 100km/h and 120km/h on a freeway ..

Every thing else vibration wise i would simply say has either been road surface or maybe the slightly buckled rim but nothing dangerous or like the 100km/h to 120km/h vibration that it had !

That's a shame as I know you like your,
X Power. As you even got Lowering springs for it. But a failed motor on top of the vibes (although they are now fixed) I can see why your losing patience with it.
What do you fancy next? 🙂👍

After the dealer said there was no defect present I decided to get an independent road test by an auto mechanic before and after the stage 2 repair.

lost patience now !!
letters have been sent..
see what happens till i know the outcome hard to make a decision ..
Not a MG though !!
Honestly its a real shame i love the Xpower i was looking forward to doing the coil overs as id basically decided to sell the lowered springs for the coil overs..
But now im scared of any modifications due to the risk of no warranty ..

To be breaking actual motors NO that's unacceptable !!

If i was actively looking im not sure what i fancy im worried about tesla model y but zeekr 7x performance suv looks compelling NO to BYD ..

Xpeng p7 latest version looks amazing and would be a almost shut up and take my money ..

but the all cheaper chinese EV's worry me now !!

But i know if i have to change cars it will be a EV !

I really like the idea of a new 3 series sedan bmw EV the pic ive seen look good

Vibe is odd, i can feel something sometimes but what is potentially strange and this could be talking feedback from road when you are on good smooth tarmac it is better , certainly something in the car but i wonder if it a reaction to the surface as opposed to a fundamental issue with a component on the car.
On original tyres.

My previous car was a 2009 E91 BMW 330D, lovely car but the Xpower is a much smoother car at all speeds and much, much faster and much better value for money. Sure, I don't have a leather interior but I don't need one anyway. I paid £34,000 for a 3 month old BMW in 2009 and paid £25,000 for a brand new Xpower with 200hp more 16 years later.

Only much smoother if you don't have the vibes

Tested my car up to 160kmh (100mph), zero vibes, smooth as having infinite 'cylinders' under the hood

2012 volvo s60 was a better car than the X power ..
Not as fast but built better ..

To be honest 320kw and 600nm of torque is pointless..

Dont get me wrong i love a fast car but where can you actually use it look at alot of these upcoming EV's 600-800hp and so on!

Im5 and im6 742hp you can never really use it not in AUS anyway..

Speed limit in aus range from 40km zones to 110km zones so i can get to 110km/h in 4 seconds or less !!

im slowly not seeing a point to these over powered EV's personally !!

Maybe im getting old but this crappy hair dryer on 4 wheels 2023 MG3 1.5 petrol loan car

After over 2 weeks of driving around costs me about the same to run as the X power.

but gets up to the speed limit even though alot slower KINDA does all the same things as my X power does

Bang for buck the X Power is hard to beat but there are definitely better built cars available and I appreciate most will be more expensive, but sometimes it's worth paying a bit more
100% bang for buck but like previous post it seems overkill at some point !!

I could argue all day about what the Mg4 X power lacks but its built at a price so..

I would not pay BMW money for it NO WAY .

But then its not a BMW or a prestige car !!

Software systems alone are behind at best slightly better than my 2012 volvo sort of !

Some things work much better than the volvo other things alot worse which with in its self is sad ..

collision warning on the MG is maybe if the car feels like it !!

Autonomous braking is dangerous in the MG at times sometimes im so close to some one and nothing other times im simply passing them and it slams on the brakes WTF !!

LKA is still annoying even after the updates it likes to pull you around in the lane ( just not as bnasty as before )

And NO front park sensors .. HUH which is stupid really when you actually need to manually switch to the front camera to see whats going on ..

Some of these thing are MEH systems in the grand scale of things when i was a kid 18 19 years old you needed to know your cars size and actually learn to park and reverse with out all this fancy BS

But tech dictates what you become used to yes i can still dive without the means of all these aids but with them there it does make it easier and safer ( some times )

So we come to rely on them now !!

I agree I've had some quick cars over the years, none as quick 0-60 as the x power but plenty that would leave it top end and also out break it.
If I'm being honest my next car will definitely be an EV (it will be my third) but I will be looking at real world range and efficiency as my most important considerations.
I am not interested in 500, 600 or 700hp and abysmal efficiency.
I actually like the look of the new mercedes cla 250+ saw a brand new one for £38k and they are just out so will be keeping an eye on their prices.
