MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Frank Keane MG, they're the mg distributer for Ireland.

I ordered at the end of January and was expecting a August/September delivery

It sounds like there's a big batch on the boat at the minute, it's due to arrive by the end of the month and should be ready to pick up a week or two later

Hopefully, although I did hear similar news of a "big boat" by the end of the month in June. But not sure if it came.

I'm in the same boat,Good deal so will just hang on,The problem they will have with canceling is all the free chargers that have been installed under the deal.
I would assume they are bound by the same contract I had to sign,If they cancel they can come and get there charging point and give me back the £160 it cost me to have an isolation switch installed.
Them canceling may not be worth the agro it could cause in the long run.
If they tried to remove mine, I would forward the cost to me of the two aborted installs due to the incompetence of Chargedev. I would be quids in. Also I would imagine they would have to return the grant ? It is also worth noting that the grant could only be applied against an order. So this should at least confirm an order was made prior to installation of charger. I would like to say the third engineer from Chargedev was very good.

Got email response from MG UK today as follows FYI -

Thank you for your correspondence and I’m sorry to hear your disappointment about the late delivery.
We would like to let you know that the New MG ZS EV Long Range has been an incredible success since its launch, there has been a high demand on this vehicle.

We understand your frustration, unfortunately, as my colleague has suggested, we cannot confirm the exact arrival date until production of your vehicle starts.
Current lead time is 8-9 months from the order date, however, please be advised that the ETA is subject to change, depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to shortage of semi-conductors, logistic challenge, etc.

MG fulfils customer orders including the retail and motability customer orders as per the oldest order date, however, the production date varies by car spec, hence it is not always comparable with other orders.

For the dealer stock on Autotrader, I’m afraid that we cannot comment on this without further looking into it in detail. However, if the dealer has the stock arriving, it could only be the case that the dealer stock was ordered before your vehicle order.

As your order was placed in January, we believe it is not long for your order to be fulfilled. We would recommend you to follow this up again with your purchasing dealer in 2 months and hopefully you would be able to hear some updates in due course.

Sounds like typical mg BS

Morning all. Received an update from my lease company that our order has been put back to an estimated date of 14th September 2022, having been ordered March. Really hope they turn up then, our current cars are costing us too much to keep running now

Which lease company is this? Is it for a long range or standard range version?

I think for the long range version most lease companies sent this update back in March/April time for 2021 orders of the long range. Feeling is now it will be even later.

My order through Vanarama placed November 2021 is extremely unlikely to arrive in September or October according to them, but as of yet they don't have any revised dates so aren't communicating them.

It was for 2 vehicles. SE LR and a Trophy SR through a benefit at work, Vertu has been in touch regards to the order. Shame I couldn't get one now then later

Same here, spoke to them again and they said update expected in next couple of weeks. None of the 400 cars are delivered yet, senior team is working to resolve this.

But reality of this is another push back and no comms till we actually get a car.

Every lease car I have had the dealer contacts you directly within a few weeks of the order going through to confirm the spec etc.

Tusker was no exception for me - dealer contacted me and confirmed details back in January.

So if you haven't had contact from them, it's probably down to the dealer being sloppy.

You're lucky! I've leased 5 cars from Ford, Seat and Audi through an agent and never had the dealer contact me. Although as it is a small agency you do get a better level of service as you speak to the same person every time (aside from the time the dealer got the colour wrong on a car, I accepted it after a bit of compensation.)

I am awaiting my 10th company/lease car in 26 years and this is the 1st time the dealership has contacted me to check the spec (from Holdcroft in Stoke)

Interesting.

I've only had 3, and they all contacted directly.
