MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

I emailed vanaram just after I replied on this thread and they replied with they are still on a September delivery date for our March orrder. That’s the info they have from their dealer.
As posted on another thread, I received this from Vanarama yesterday:
“Unfortunately, we are still waiting to hear further information from MG regarding the status of your vehicle. We have now escalated this to management to see if they have any better luck in contacting MG to obtain an update.
I will be in touch once we have further information.”

Unfortunately, somebody is being given the wrong info here. Every car is TBA according to the official MG line, if it isn't built and on its way.

Tusker say late September for my January order, but dealer has TBA.

Brokers, such as Vanarama, are simply giving a month to try to keep their customers quiet. I ordered in November and in February was given a due date of April 7th. In March, after they had installed the charge point as part of the deal, they said the car would not arrive in April and said September was more likely. I have since had contact from them and it’s quite clear they have no idea when the car will arrive and will just keep moving the date back accordingly. Two months ago they told me an update was expected from MG “within 5 days”. Yesterday they said they still have had no updates from MG and that the issue had been escalated to management although what good that will do remains to be seen however, given that Vanarama have some 400 orders outstanding from November last year you would have thought they could bring some pressure to bear on MG to start fulfilling them, especially now that production would seem to be all but back to normal.

I dont think the fault lies with MG or Vanarama, Vanarama is trying to fulfill all the orders at once as they dont want us calling them after hearing someone else has received their car before me even though they placed the order after me. I think the fault lies with the ship builders who have yet to complete the ship ordered by Vanarama big enough to accomodate all these cars and their random BS

That differs from what they told me for my Nov long range order. They said although they have no later information with a revised date they are confident it won't be September now!

September/no September, it's all guessing, because the actual line is TBA from MG.

Is that a trick question? 😂 Post says Grey Trophy Connect SR.
Wasn’t a trick question , yes you are correct posted did say Grey , it looked like what I have ordered monument Silver in photograph haven’t seen one despite ordering that colour and in fact it’s been confirmed by person who posted original post it is in fact monument silver 😂😂😂

The cars will arrive when they arrive.

The large dealers are still receiving stock order cars that were ordered last year - MG UK admitted this to me in their last reply to me which I posted a few weeks ago.

We are all customers (including lease / Motability) who the dealers are not too fussed about. They are not making a lot of margin out of us. We have a good deal on the table and do not want to cancel. They know we are prepared to wait as long as it takes for the actual car. Some have grants involved that we could lose if cancel others are fixed at old list prices etc. Is the dealer really bothered about our orders where they are to make very little out of us. The dealer would probably prefer that we cancel so that when the car destined for us does actually arrive, they can sell to someone else for more. They simply have us over a barrel.

When additional cars become available to the dealer, they have a choice. Do they say, let’s swap the car to that nice existing customer who has been waiting for months and make very little profit or do they sell to someone new and make some good profit. It is a no brainer for them.

I think we are still in a queue somewhere but our priority is very low in the hope we will cancel. When it is our turn they will call us.

I am not taken in by claimed dates in the future for when our specific car will have the correct parts to be able to be built on the production line. SAIC do not know this so there is no way that the dealers or lease companies know. For instance to build your actual car for September it would need to be hitting the production line now. Yet all the big computer says is TBA.

Agree with the phrase ”they have us over a barrel”. If it wasn’t for the fact that I would have to pay for the charge point I for one, would have cancelled.

Agree with pretty much all of that.

A small thing that may be of help to the many of you whom have ordered months ago, my dealer contacted me last week and told me of the four stock orders he had on order, from Nov / Dec last year, one was allocated to me in June and another to another customer in June. From the 1st of July, MG chancelled his two remaining stock orders. So this may be of small comfort to some.

Obviously do not known if this is the case for all dealers stock orders.

The snag is their is little else available to chose from and get a decent delivery date. I’m hanging on in the knowledge that my Dec 14th TCLR PCP deal still stands with maximum grant and original price.

Agree, my small local dealer had two orders cancelled by the customer. They asked MG if they could keep the order and was told that they would be fined if they did - they followed the instruction and cancelled the order with MG.

My dealer also had stock orders in March when the new rule with regards the fine was introduced. They followed MG’s instruction and cancelled the stock orders.

Yet the large dealers kept all stock orders and on top of this, have been offered additional stock - a couple of cases we know about when 50 and 60 cars were given to a single dealer and it was advertised on the forum.

It is one rule for the large dealers and another for the small dealers.

Yep, currently holding on too although by the skin of my teeth.

If it wasn’t for the charge point mounted to the side of my house reminding me that I am going electric, the car would have been cancelled by now.

Am also still looking at plan b as there are risks that MG could decide to cancel, grant could be refused or the lease deal be cancelled / renegotiated.

I already told the experience of one of my relations buying a Land Rover and can update. After paying a deposit and waiting months for delivery they were advised that their bespoke Land Rover had arrived with all the options/colour schemes they had chosen. When they got to the dealership to collect they were advised that the cost had gone up by £6K. They did not accept this and demanded deposit back. Said deposit was non refundable. They issued a summons through the small claims court - deposit and costs for small claims court now refunded.

Discussting having to go to all that trouble to get the money back and trying to rip them off with new price

Just had a call from my dealer (FG Barnes Canterbury) to say the situation hadnt changed, still TBA, but they would continue to monitor and update me every month. So no good news, but nice to get the courtesy call.

My delivery date was initially in August :)ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:), so I know by the time mine arrives, I'll probably be too old to drive any more!
However, I too get a courtesy email communication each month from my (albeit fairly small) dealer. It's nice to know I'm still on their books, but I almost wish I didn't hear from them, as at least no news is good news. As it is, each email just reiterates the same sad story - no sign of car, vague information from MG and nothing more to add.
It'll be the same every month for the rest of the year at least, of that I'm sure.

I whole heartedly agree with your post jsand59, and we all know who you're referring to on here don't we, someone who works for Chorley group and who just happens to appear on the podcast as well!!!
