Confused by those messages about short lead times on all but EVs. Didn't they send out some presser months ago about suspending fuel based car production for the rest of the year?

I am waiting on a LRTC from January 4th. It would be interesting to see if the rest of the World are getting cars with sunroofs.

That was in March for petrol orders. It was temporary.

More recently they suspended all orders for EVs for a while.

So let me get this 30 week delivery promise correct.

If I was to order a ZS EV today they are advising that delivery will be in March 2023.

I ordered back in early January and now am on week 33 - my car is not yet on the production line and so giving the previous known time of 3 months from Manufacture completion certificate to customer collection I need to add 13 weeks if it was to be made this week. This would take me to a 46 week wait and I know that because I fit into the category of lease / Motability I am at the back of the queue so could be waiting longer.

It really is just unbelievable that MG UK can make such commitments when they know that they have such a large backlog of orders to complete before they can start supplying new orders.

I spoke to Motability this afternoon and updated them and asked why they are not helping - awaiting a call back.

One point for Motability customers - if you have extended your existing car beyond 3 years while waiting for the next car make sure that the insurance is extended. I got asked a daft question today which surprised me - “oh, I notice that your current car insurance is running out, would you like me to extend it? After stating that it would be a good idea they replied by saying that it has been extended for 6 months and I must call them if I want it extending further when the 6 months runs out? I suggested that they insure the car until it is handed back or swapped onto a new car and apparently it doesn’t work like that?

We too have a Motability car on order from January.
Never mind we can all watch the Podcast on Friday and glory in the MG4 which also has a sunroof albeit none opening and wait for MG to cancel all our orders for the LRTC as I am expecting a call from either our dealer or Motability.

So jealous as exact same spec and colour I am waiting on. I had seen quite a few people getting this spec in so did my monthly email to my dealer but sadly mine still shows waiting build. I am hoping like others it suddenly jumps to on a boat and almost here. lol

He did say they are now starting to see cars come in. and like other dealers he has been told by MG UK they should see cars starting to come in faster. We can only live in hope
