Hi all,

Had anyone got a carlinkit wireless Android auto dongle and is it working ok?

I purchased this one on Amazon for wireless Android auto from my pixel 7 pro to a trophy:
Carlinkit A2A

I picked up the car today and was told latest updates (including the don't lock yourself in update!) were applied and dongle is on the latest firmware, but I just get a red light and no Android auto button live on the screen.

I did have a bit of a mare getting the Android auto even working by plugging in, too several tries and reboots of my phone and a different cable...

Thanks in advance.

I sent mine back. Too buggy, no consistent connection on start up, dropouts...all this after updates and phone setting "amendments". I expected some minor configuration changes but they asked me to start deep mining...should be almost plug and play none of the nonsense they asked me to do,

Great to know I'll do the same then, thank you. Did you try any others in replacement out of interest?

Watching and waiting for a consistent and recommended product. Keeping an eye on reviews and forums but still undecided. Watching the Motorola MA1 at the moment but still......

From my experience, which is fairly extensive as I work for an in-car audio company.....any solution which converts car-play/android-auto from being wired to wireless will always come with compromise. Im yet to see anything that you can install, and never need to mess with to keep it running.

I have iPhone 12 Pro connected to this from Aliexpress. Carplay works everytime no problems.
Just takes added time on start up as MG software is also slow to get ready.

It looks like CarPlay is winning at the moment with AA lagging behind. I'm giving this one a go tomorrow: Wireless AA Adapter

I'll let you know how I get on with it. In my limited experience, the cables are often the weak point, hopefully with this built in, I'll get a better experience? This is where @the briggie tells me he's tried that one and it didn't work :ROFLMAO:

I have aa wireless works ok for me

For anyone needing an adapter still... This one seems to work: AA Wireless Adapter

Long hold on the voice button gives Google and short press gives MG voice assistant. Just can't seem to get it working with "ok Google" and no button presses, but not the end of the world. The screen quality in the car is actually really good I must admit.

Just an update if it helps anyone out...So the adapter above, whilst it worked fine, the menus were a bit laggy when scrolling. I had an epiphany and thought I'd done something wrong during the setup of the CarLinkit A2A, so tried it once again and it worked immediately.

Works with both mine and the wife's phones and switches between them automatically (auto connects to the last one, but if not in the car, it will use the other). It connects in about 10 seconds from starting the car and overrides the car Bluetooth to make it more user friendly.

All Google functions work, as well as voice commands without a button press "Ok Google" and no drop outs at all so far.

So, a bit of a U-turn, but if it saves someone else time, then the CarLinkit A2A is an excellent choice in my opinion. At £60, I'm happy with that as a wireless Android Auto option.

Your link currently shows as £76.99 for me.

And CCC says it has always been that price? 🤷‍♂️

That's the one I'm not using...

The one I'm using is this:
Carlinkit A2A

Forgot to mention, it also has the bonus of a passthrough USB port so if you have the SE without the charge pad, you can plug your cable into this and not lose the socket.

I'm not really following your explanation. Did you do anything different when you set-up the CarLinkit for the 2nd time?
