MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Gtechniq C1 + EXO v5, at my suggestion.

See the other thread where I set out the results of my research leading to this choice:

I’ve decided to hold off for longer.
Tying up a deal on a GR Yaris at the moment, so will keep my Zoe for longer than previously planned and then decide if I want / need to run a GRY and a XPower…..
If I decide the GRY is enough for me in the thrill stakes I will likely go for a Megane EV to replace the Zoe.
Ended up deciding I don’t need a Gr Yaris and a XPower.
Decision helped by getting my hands on a BMW iX1 MSport for the same cost as a Xpower through my salary sacrifice scheme.
The BMW will arrive in around a month.

Good luck with your cars folks. Quite a few up in my neck of the woods so looking like it will sell well.

Fair enough, enjoy your new motor, Craig. 🙂👍

Called Norton Way today to see if the car passed it's PDI and yes it did, and will be put on a transporter (assume a low loader) to get it from Portbury to Scotland on 17/11, which is good timing as the Ohme charger is being installed on 20/11. So all being well just a couple more weeks to wait

update 06/11
Now have the reg number from LeasePlan, going to be a London plate starting LC which is kind of strange as the car arrived in Portbury, will be sent to Scotland will never go near London..at least it gives me an idea what to call her...Elsie

I know mine is in the country because the supplying dealer said it was at sea, and then arrived when the Heritage Leader had docked. So just waiting for transport to the supplying dealer which is annoying because it's been there a while now.

I have been trying to work out which ship it may be on, working back from estimated delivery date which is a month from today. Not had any updates for a few weeks so must have been at sea for a while and Im aware that MG are not very forthcoming with information.
Looking at Bristol records there a few vehicle carriers arriving, but when checking they havent been via China. The Gold Estrella docks on Saturday which seems to be favourite, although it only mentions Shanghai, taking into account checking and delivery to dealer. Any other insights would be welcome if I have missed something. Thanks

Having seen the above messages I thought I'd check my order status. Turns out it is at the dealer NOW. Perrys asking if I can take delivery earlier than expected (had requested mid-February, they had said late-Jan) so trying to chase current lease company to find out about early-termination fees for the ID.3.

Could be an early Christmas present after-all...

Good news for us both. I will have to do the same regarding early termination figure, got a good idea just need to confirm.

I only figured it out because people earlier in this thread mentioned that ship, and then the supplying dealer said it was 'at sea', and then once it arrived the dealer said it was waiting for transport.

Really annoying because I've just agreed a price on my old car at its supplying dealer, and to lock that price in I'm having to give it them tomorrow. So without a car for a few weeks potentially - sorting out a hire car.

Luscombe's comms continue to be vague - which I get, but surely it's not the first MG they've ever sold, they should be able to work out when it'll arrive.

I'm through Tusker via Perry's and it seemed to go very quickly from 'Released from factory' to 'Awaiting final dealer checks'.

Is the common denominator MG? They build a load of cars, put them on a ship and then if you're lucky it turns up quickly. Or if not, who knows?

Re: comms I've not had any notifications and wouldn't know about any of the changes had I not checked. Fairly sure if I hadn't double-checked then I would have had a phone call in the next few days asking to confirm delivery details

How quickly?

Seems to be - last four brand new cars I've had were all factory orders where you could track the car from body in white onward.

Well there was nothing in between. Had seen people getting 'at sea' notifications etc but none of that came through to me. That may be Tusker/Perry's not updating their system rather than MG but doubt I'll ever know.

From date of order to it seemingly being imminently available we're looking at roughly 8 weeks. Original estimate of 30. Just wish current lease would get back to me- surely when they see it's the XPower I'm waiting on they should bump me up the chain?!

It is very random, Im through Select Car Leasing and they have been very good on updates even if nothing changed. Original expected delivery of December was then pushed back to Jan/Feb, the phone call came out of the blue. I then checked on my dashboard and all the stages had been updated to reflect the current status. Whether it was down to MG or the dealer not providing information, who knows. Im just glad its on its way. Hope you get your answer from your lease company soon.

I had a feeling that Gold Estrella was the ship you were all going to have some of your cars on I did the same thing worked out which vessel had docked in china prior to heading towards the Suez canal. Good and not so good they are arriving earlier especially if you have to quickly sell a car or get out of a prior lease earlier.
Happy early Christmas to those whom may get it early.

Rob

Select Car Leasing are my current lease- only good things to say about whole experience with them in case anyone reading this is looking for a lease company.

Would've stayed on but salary sacrifice worked out better deal for me this time. I'll let you know when I know!

My Tusker Xpower is booked for 20th Nov delivery. Seemed to stick at "on order awaiting build slot" for a while a few weeks and all of a sudden was updated to "Released from Factory" but must have already been at sea. Will be sad to see Audi e-tron go (family will miss the extra space) but really looking forward to joining #teamblack

Be interested to know thoughts comparing the MG and Audi...

Audi heavier and fairly low range (approx 185 max) I've driven over 29k miles and efficiency is a poor 2.7 and I'm mainly urban rather than m/ways. Build & comfort is good and it's pretty quick considering the weight with 308hp and AWD. Had an amazing deal with Tusker though and it's been £390 p/m for 9k annual miles. Going up to £451 for the Xpower.

Family will have forgotten about the space after the first overtake! I'm still slightly nervous about how tight 3 car seats is going to be but if the ID.3 can do it then we should be OK.

We've worked to approx average of 200 (of claimed 263) and predominantly urban. Been a great first EV but couldn't say no with the XPower pricing on sal sac
