When's the next MG5 delivery?!!

Currently relying on family to get to work (£35pw in dino juice) sorry but i can not afford the car outright, and dealership PCP / PCH prices on MG5 LR are £319-399 so that is not feasible considering my budget is set to £250. Pointless buying a cheap run around to tie me over. Apologies, lets get this thread back on topic shall we ^.^
 
Quick update on our order. Ordered January for 1 March delivery - we were assured that the car ws ordered and was on the way to the dock! This was then pushed back to May due to a 'fitment delay'. Last week we received a further update - ETA now 1 September.

I wouldn't be surprised if that September 1st date is linked to this...

Unfortunately your car was one of those on the list.

That doesn’t explain why they’re pushed back to September registration? Surely that’s up to the customer if they want a September registration or not

If MG are going to ensure the cars are not allocated/delivered until then, there's little the customer can do about it no matter their preference.
 
That’s a good point. We ordered in November and originally told March and then pushed back to June. Dealer is saying there’s still no update from MG, not even an indication that it’s been shipped. So unlikely it will be delivered by June.

Honestly quite disappointing as we’ve ordered 3 cars and all other brands have been able to provide much more information even when faced with similar delays.

According to the dealer all ships are stuck in China due to Shanghai lockdown

The part I've bolded seems to be most people's frustration... Yep, there are delays with other manufacturers - we get it. But those others are doing a much better job of keeping their customer base informed than MG is.

Good news is a ship came in around 20th April, which did have MGs on it - so there is at least some movement, even if it's a trickle! There's another one coming into port tomorrow, but no confirmation as to what brands are on it...all we can do is guess, & stay hopeful 🤞
 
I was informed by my leasing company that my vehicle, ordered end of September, should be arriving around 7th May. As it hasn't materialised I'm hoping they meant it's arriving in the UK around 7th May and that I'll get it soon!

I would be giving them a call. Mine was similar 'should have it x day' they did have it with a day or so of that date and were doing the pdi/registration etc just hadn't told me it had arrived at the dealers yet.

If you check with your dealer everyday, then the date will be pushed back by 1 day every day. This will happen until the car is in the country and allocated.
This has been explained by @Miles Roberts CG and others.

Yep, well aware of that but mines through a leasing company so the dealer won't talk to me 🙂

The last date given to me was 7th May, that was 2 months ago. So the June date isn't in line with it being pushed back every day.

Just sharing my updates in case it helps anyone else expecting an MG5 delivery in June, not looking for advice/comments 👍🏻
 
My MG5 LR Blue (Ordered Oct) is "due" 30th June but my dealer is expecting it to arrive before then. No idea why they are so optimistic about it being early :unsure:

Received a further update today to say that the dealer is expecting the vehicle on the 14th June, and my leasing company are expecting it on 22nd June.

It's quite possible that a ship due in any day soon has them on board but they can't confirm how long it would take to get from port to your dealer at the moment, hence them being a bit vague?
