MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

MG let slip that a shipment is due in Portbury today (14th June)!
Does anybody know which ship that is?
I've had a look at bristolport.co.uk but can't work out which ships are RoRo car transporters.
How do you decipher what a ship is carrying from that web page?
Swallow Ace departed from Portbury yesterday, so perhaps this is the ship they mean? It was in port in Shanghai for over a day and was here for over 24 hours too…now onto Bremerhaven. Sounds promising… I think…

Interesting as I've been told my MG5 is due at the dealer on Thursday, also indicating that a ship was docking this week 🤞🏼

Possibly someone's long awaited car being sold for the new price / highest bidder.

Is it possible your car was on Tranquil Ace which docked end of May? I think someone else on this thread mentioned their car was on that vessel, & they had been given around this timeframe for delivery to dealer.

I may be able to tell you if/when it arrives 😂

Had an automated email yesterday reiterating the estimated delivery to dealer, and then to my leasing company. Did make me wonder if a ship docked yesterday and thus had been allocated now but can't talk to anyone about it to find out.

Just keeping everything crossed 😂🤞🏼

Has anyone got an outstanding order for a LR SE from Lancaster MG?
I'd be hopping around in a rage if I had and this was not offered to me as an option.
Similar to other dealers advertising stock - have they been offered to customers with outstanding orders?

What happened to the £1.5k fine, for having a car, without a named customer on it? is that really happening or just a case of it’s not a big deal to the dealership and it’s just added on to the screen price?..

it seems maybe only the Trophy SE LR is dripping thought, haven’t hear mush about the the Trophy LR ?

A fine is only a punishment for the honest. Dealers will pass the cost on, MG get paid £1,500 more per car. I’m surprised they’re not actively telling dealers to get punished!

As we've shown, all they need to do is have put a name as someone at the dealership. Doesn't trigger a fine although not technically a customer order.

The dealer pockets whatever extra they get... securing a sale over RRP only means that in the event that MG do pick up on it, they've got a buffer to offset the fine. Little incentive to be honest if you can charge over the odds due to demand.

Now that the Plug-in Car Grant has completely ended as of this morning, even those that only got the £1.5k allowance are tied to their orders unless they're prepared to lose that money off the asking price. Worth ensuring that your dealer/lease company put the claim through when they took your order.

Fingers crossed there's something for you all on the incoming ships.

Nothing adds up with the strategy for MG cars being delivered. Salespeople in the dealerships have different stories. MG are certainly not treating all the dealers the same. As for ensuring customers are satisfied according to the length of time they have been waiting is a joke. We have seen a few dealerships have been given a number of cars for stock. Chorley group were given 60 Short Range ZS’s last month - they were advertising the news on this forum. My dealer on the Isle of Wight had orders for both LR and SR and have not seen one car delivered for customers that have placed orders.
Some dealers are even able to predict that Jan orders will be delivered in September, yet other dealers have TBA and are still waiting for Oct/Nov orders with no information.
Just need transparency of what is happening so we can decide what to do. Personally I do not accept being told sorry we do not have a clue after waiting over 5 months, whilst other dealers are given cars for stock and are able to make delivery promises. Let’s see if I get any feedback from my emails sent to MG/Dealer/Motability.

Surely if you have a MG order number for your car it would be hard for a dealer to sell your car on and pretend that it hasn’t arrived yet.
When I contacted MG direct I quoted my order number, they advised my car hadn’t been started to be built as yet.
I have my fingers crossed that it will be end of September or worse case November.

You're missing the point...they're not changing the names on legitimate customer orders, so they're not selling your car or changing your reference number. It's those few orders where the name on it wasn't quite kosher in the first place.

Only thing I can say about MG UK and their customer relations is complete shambles. I feel like a mushroom, being kept in the dark and fed you know what.

What I would like to know is, who decides which vehicles go where when they arrive at the dock. Someone must be in overall contol of logistics.
