I don't think this is anything to do with the app. Mine had this problem after a software update - always ignored the 80% limit and would not do a scheduled charge. The dealer knew all about the problem and with a further software update on the car (not the app) it was fixed and has behaved...
I also had this problem which I think appeared after an update. A return to the dealer and another update fixed the problem. They said they had done a number of these and the fix always worked.
Ewan McTurk (The Plug Life) is well worth listening to if unsure about which type of battery to choose. In general he is very re-assuring but does warn against constant topping up to 100% after short journeys; much better to let the battery get to a lower state of charge before topping up if...
I am not sure I understand: I can have the car in 'Ready' mode but as soon as I open the door to plug it in, it ceases to be 'ready' and when I then plug it in it starts charging even though the schedule is set. If I then 'finish charging' it does exactly that but does not re-start when the...
I have tried many times to connect via the app but it never works here because of the absence of phone signal. I don't recall seeing a phone signal strength indicator on the home screen and there is certainly nothing at present. Will have to check this when we move off this island.
Setting...
I do have wifi but the app refuses to connect to the car and I assumed that was because there was no phone signal. Am I right that the car can't send its status or receive instructions like charging instructions unless it can see a mobile phone signal?
Mine just starts charging when it's plugged in whether locked or unlocked. I have to 'finish charging' to stop it but it ignores the schedule either way
Well that didn't work. After pressing 'finish charging' it stays finished: the pre-set schedule didn't work and neither did a new schedule set after that. If I unplug, set a new schedule and plug in again, I am back to square one: it just ignores the schedule and charges immediately.
I looks...
Thanks for the suggestion. Trouble is I don't have a phone signal here so the app doesn't connect at all. Perhaps I could press 'finish charging' in the car and see if the schedule then operates. Will give it a try and report back
I am away from my normal home charger and trying to use scheduled charging. In the car I have set the charging period for the cheaper rate over night, got out the car, locked it to make sure all power was off, unlocked it to open the flap, plugged in the granny charger, connected to the mains...
Thanks all. I ended up having to leave the battery connected: having discovered how to access the keyhole, I found the key would not turn. I suspect the lock was frozen (-4C at the time) but attempts to unfreeze it failed so I didn't want to risk coming back and being unable to unlock the car...
Found a key hole on the underside of the driver's door handle but inserting the key doesn't seem to do anything and the car stays locked. Is there anything else you have to do while inserting the key?
Ah Thanks. I looked in the manual ~(honest!) but couldn't see the relevant bit
Anyone know where the key hole for the mechanical door key is? Just about to leave the car with the battery disconnected so it would help to be able to unlock the car on return to re-connect the battery.
Thanks
