    Scheduled Charging Problem

I am not sure I understand: I can have the car in 'Ready' mode but as soon as I open the door to plug it in, it ceases to be 'ready' and when I then plug it in it starts charging even though the schedule is set. If I then 'finish charging' it does exactly that but does not re-start when the...

    Scheduled Charging Problem

I have tried many times to connect via the app but it never works here because of the absence of phone signal. I don't recall seeing a phone signal strength indicator on the home screen and there is certainly nothing at present. Will have to check this when we move off this island. Setting...

    Scheduled Charging Problem

I do have wifi but the app refuses to connect to the car and I assumed that was because there was no phone signal. Am I right that the car can't send its status or receive instructions like charging instructions unless it can see a mobile phone signal?

    Scheduled Charging Problem

Mine just starts charging when it's plugged in whether locked or unlocked. I have to 'finish charging' to stop it but it ignores the schedule either way

    Scheduled Charging Problem

The car is just outside the house where there is no signal so I assume the car has no signal either. I don't know how to check this though

    Scheduled Charging Problem

Well that didn't work. After pressing 'finish charging' it stays finished: the pre-set schedule didn't work and neither did a new schedule set after that. If I unplug, set a new schedule and plug in again, I am back to square one: it just ignores the schedule and charges immediately. I looks...

    Scheduled Charging Problem

Thanks for the suggestion. Trouble is I don't have a phone signal here so the app doesn't connect at all. Perhaps I could press 'finish charging' in the car and see if the schedule then operates. Will give it a try and report back

    Scheduled Charging Problem

I am away from my normal home charger and trying to use scheduled charging. In the car I have set the charging period for the cheaper rate over night, got out the car, locked it to make sure all power was off, unlocked it to open the flap, plugged in the granny charger, connected to the mains...

    Mechanical Key hole

Thanks all. I ended up having to leave the battery connected: having discovered how to access the keyhole, I found the key would not turn. I suspect the lock was frozen (-4C at the time) but attempts to unfreeze it failed so I didn't want to risk coming back and being unable to unlock the car...

    Mechanical Key hole

Found a key hole on the underside of the driver's door handle but inserting the key doesn't seem to do anything and the car stays locked. Is there anything else you have to do while inserting the key? Ah Thanks. I looked in the manual ~(honest!) but couldn't see the relevant bit

    Mechanical Key hole

Anyone know where the key hole for the mechanical door key is? Just about to leave the car with the battery disconnected so it would help to be able to unlock the car on return to re-connect the battery. Thanks Alf

    Charging Socket Lights

Didn't work. Lights are still red. Looks like the dealer will have to investigate. Happy Christmas everyone!

    Charging Socket Lights

Great, thanks. Will try all that in the morning if the rain and gales have eased a bit and report back

    Charging Socket Lights

Thanks. I have read through this thread and it seems to be worth a try (although my lights have changed colour and not gone out completely so could be a different issue). The consensus seems to be to try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery first, as recommended by Lovemyev above...

    Charging Socket Lights

I think they flash green then go off but the charging works normally - no problem with that at all. Yes charging is fine. It seems to be just the lights that are abnormal. Looks like mine might be the same then. I might go back to the dealer sooner rather than later (service not due til...

    Charging Socket Lights

The lights in our MG4 charging socket are red. I have a recollection they used to be blue. Am I dreaming or are our lights an odd colour? If they did change colour I think it may have coincided with getting the tow ball fitted which would have involved fiddling with the electrics.

    Auto Hold has stopped working

That's a very thorough walk through - clearer than the manual I think

    Auto Hold has stopped working

Thanks all, it's working again. I tried the whole start up again as if I was about to set off and just before going to Drive I touched the slider in the Safety screen and it switched on! I powered off and tried again but without putting my seat belt on and it would play so that was the...

    Auto Hold has stopped working

Yes, just to make sure I went out and tried that again but no joy. I don't have one-pedal driving. Does that appear in later firmware versions?

    Auto Hold has stopped working

We have had our MG4 SE LR since March and our experience of it is overwhelmingly positive. The deep press on the brake pedal to hold the car at traffic lights has been a very nice addition to the convenience of driving the car so when it just stopped working a couple of days ago this was a big...
