socket
A network socket is a software structure within a network node of a computer network that serves as an endpoint for sending and receiving data across the network. The structure and properties of a socket are defined by an application programming interface (API) for the networking architecture. Sockets are created only during the lifetime of a process of an application running in the node.
Because of the standardization of the TCP/IP protocols in the development of the Internet, the term network socket is most commonly used in the context of the Internet protocol suite, and is therefore often also referred to as Internet socket. In this context, a socket is externally identified to other hosts by its socket address, which is the triad of transport protocol, IP address, and port number.
The term socket is also used for the software endpoint of node-internal inter-process communication (IPC), which often uses the same API as a network socket.
The charge socket on the car appears to have a locking pin at the 12 o'clock position that deploys to prevent the plug being removed. Mine appears to have become confused and is deployed without the plug inserted so I cannot properly insert the charge plug.
Is there a way to reset this or...
Does anyone know what this might be ? I initially thought it was a spot for a boot light in left hand drive vehicles . When I opened it up , there was a loop of cable or wire like a pull toggle . Could be see if there was a wiring socket behind it….
Printed a "cap" for the body of the Type2 / Mennekes charging socket. The outer lid is not "sealed" at all, so need to protect the pins from dust, water drops and moisture fog.
The lights in our MG4 charging socket are red. I have a recollection they used to be blue. Am I dreaming or are our lights an odd colour? If they did change colour I think it may have coincided with getting the tow ball fitted which would have involved fiddling with the electrics.
Just inflated tyres as the sensor suggested they were too low. Inflated fine using normal car inflator plugged into the 12v cigarette light socket.
But bizarrely now i cant pull the plug from the socket. I've given it a good yank but don't wanna try pulling much harder as it feels locked in...
My new MG4 SE LR does not have a waterproof plug cover. In the users manual this is repeatedly referred to as a safety feature. My MG dealer sales person states it is not standard and not provided on an MG4 which (as a safety feature) feels counter intuitive. Can anyone give me definitive answer...
Just collected my MG4 51 yesterday and I find that the locking mechanism for the charging socket is acting up. It is not able to fully engage when the charging plug is inserted and hence refuses to charge until it is locked. I have to remove and reinsert the plug several time to get it to lock...
