    Service Reminder

I put the service reminder in the calendar on my phone and also in outlook on a repeating occurence, same date every year.

    MG4 reliability

Hyundai 1. Correlation Between SORNs and Reliability ICCU Failures: A major factor in Hyundai EV reliability concerns is the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). When this component fails, it can render the car inoperable. A high volume of these failures often results in vehicles being...

    Flat tyre at home

These I what I have used for the Xpower, my motorcycles and even my escooter, always worked and very easy to apply, I always have with my car and motorbikes. Had two separate punctures in my motorbike, one on the first day of ownership and another at 5,000kms. Tyre was changed at 13,000kms when...

    Flat tyre at home

Yep, the 'nation' of ambulance chasers and treating petty 'litigation' as a sport. Tyre repair strings/plugs are 100% safe as a repair method. Only those who have never used them believe the rubbish spouted by those with agendas simply to make money by frightening the uninformed into spending...

    Flat tyre at home

Just repair with a screw in plug, less than a 5 min job. That's what I did with one of my rear tyres a few months ago, been great ever since. Cost? about €0.10 using a kit from Aliexpress, much easier than the rubber strings/snakes I used to use, simply screw into puncture hole. Always carry...

MOT Fail! Lower Suspension Arm Bushings

exactly, that's why I always keep my cars for at least 5 years. Divide the price paid by at least 5 and then subtract the residual and always comes out at a very reasonable price for that length of motoring in a car from new. Same with my motorbikes, always buy new because there are so many...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Actually, yes they do offer free software updates. I received a call to come a couple of weeks before my 1st service for the R67 update. I never even mentioned software when I booked the service a couple of months ago. Not in the UK but it's still MG.

First MOT, major fail, both front suspension bushes

Why? Simply because a handful of owners on here have had 'problems' getting the work handled under warranty? The vast majority of MG owners don't post on this forum, so 'experiences' from a handful of owner (without the input from the dealers they approached) isn't a valid representation of this...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

My Xpower was upgraded to R67 last December on recommendation of my dealer. Charging slider works as it did before, no issues. Your dealer has access to SIPS, so updating to R59+ shouldn't be a problem for them unless you didn't have any issues, so no update recommended by the dealer?

    Squeaking sound

Just use brake cleaner on the pads/calipers. I had a small squeal when reversing a few months ago, a good dousing of brake cleaner cured the problem, takes a couple of minutes

MOT Fail! Lower Suspension Arm Bushings

Changing bushings on components such as lower arms costs almost as much as a new lower arm. When I had a 911 turbo, this was also an issue and my independent said exactly that. Just get a new arm. Most of the cost will be the labour anyway, removing and refitting and possibly realignment.

    MG4 X-Power 2026 facelift review

Agree, I never bother with these 'youtube' efforts. I just wait until a dealer has a car and then go look at it and test drive it, same with all of the motorcycles I've owned. Exactly what I did with my Xpower.

    Flat tyre does not matter

When one of my tyres took in a screw a few months ago, I immediately got a tpms warning, turned round, drove back home and repaired the offending puncture with a screw in plug, 10 min job at most and thanks to the tpms I didn't get stranded, so now carry a portable compressor and repair kit in...
