exactly, that's why I always keep my cars for at least 5 years. Divide the price paid by at least 5 and then subtract the residual and always comes out at a very reasonable price for that length of motoring in a car from new. Same with my motorbikes, always buy new because there are so many bodge merchants out there reflashing ECUs, messing around with suspension internals, installing illegal pipes, illegally removing emissions systems, running in new bikes 'like they stole it' and then never, ever mentioning any of this when selling, simply bolting back on all of the original equipment and selling them as 'factory standard', same as cars and now even more so with the bodges made by software installed from dodgy usb sticks and a whole array of more than likely illegal sharing of manufacturers ip.Agree, buying any car, is like burning money. But we still do it. Coz we like car's and driving. That's why we're on here.
That's why I never fret about depreciation,
I just enjoy the car.![]()
