MG4 Preview Priced from £26,000 (estimated)

Interesting Article on the pre-production MG4 after a test drive in Rome MG4 Preview | Electrifying.
I hope they right, but it’s all a bit of guess work for me so I will just await for the official price to be announced then decide to look or try it or not to, I have registered an interest in it with a few dealers around and with MG. Trouble with this this is nobody knows how good it is until you can see one for real or at lease a good test drive report.
A year or so back the Marvel R was being reported as the best thing since sliced bread but the roadtest I posted the other day in the Marvel R forum on here says it’s awful so that’s another that we wait to see and drive might be fine for some.

I watched the Marvel R test this morning, I cant believe he said the Infotainment in the 5 was better.

Hi Jomarkh he did, but I think he was talking about the new 5 that we in the UK have not seen yet in RHD form as yet, but he did a test on one in Germany a little while back.

Two interesting quotes:
  • Despite being a physically smaller car than the MG5 estate, the 4 feels the more spacious of the two
  • With the facelifted MG5 having recently moved out of the £25k-£30k price bracket (prices start at just over £30,000), the prospect of the MG4 landing with a price tag of around £26,000 looks to be a realistic one

Over on the "First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications" thread, there's a screengrab from Facebook, where a dealer confirms "less than £26k" for the base model

To me it certainly has "changed the game" in comparison to the internal competition of the MG5 facelift which looks expensive in comparison.

Was reading a review of the new Astra. Which is £26k for a mid range ICE. So a £26k starting for a BEV of same size with reasonable range is incredible.
Anyone who would choose an ICE Astra over an MG4 for the same money is either oblivious to how good EV's actually are, or a blithering idiot!

I'm going to buy the wife one pre-registered for a few quid off next year I reckon. We need a tow bar on the second car, and this will be the first smaller, sensibly priced EV that can tow!

Pricing revealed and configurator now live!
SE Std Range - £25995
SE Long Range - £28495
Trophy Long Range - £31495

Free colours are white or blue(?), all others £545 except red which is £695
