My smart app not working just when need it

Since updating to the new version its very temperamental showing me the charging status on the app. For example, its charging now to 80%, I can open the app and it scans the car ok. But when I go on the battery tab to check how the charging is going, it just hangs and says remote control fail. The servers must be ok and its connecting to the car, otherwise it wouldn't scan. A little frustrating, as I can't see now if the charging is finished on the app, I have to go and look out of the window to see if the lights have gone off green.
Did it work OK before you updated the app?
Now some silly questions, have you gone through the steps like:- unlock & locking,
Uninstall the app restart phone and install again.
This is just to eliminate any ussues when updating to the new version.

Another thing is happening since the new app that I forgot to mention. Before the new app, I plugged the car in, went indoors, opened the app, and started the charge, no bother. Now, when I first start the charge on the app it tells me that the cable isn't connected. I then go outside, unlock the car, take the cable out, put the cable back in and lock the car. I then go to the app and start the charge ok. So it always works, but never the first time!

I would uninstall & reinstall the app. Then you know it's not your phone.
Apps sometimes will only partially work, so it's worth trying.
 
Just an update on the charging part of the app. I suddenly lost connection to this part. I uninstall & reinstall the app but it made no difference. the version is now ver 2.02.
On that note I have another phone which has the app on it but not registered to my account, this has the app ver 2.01. I quickly logged in on this to see if there would be any difference. But no I get the same error message.
Conclusion it is nothing to do with the app.

It failed for me this morning too. Saying that, since the app has updated it rarely works now. I didn't have any problems before the app update with pre-warming. Also, my car failed on me at traffic lights this morning saying I needed to put my seat belt on before driving off. Tried few times but had to get out (on the motorway slip road) lock it and unlock to get back in and it worked. It's been a 👎 car day!
From memory- If you swipe left on the Home Screen one of the tabs is Vehicle. Tapping this gives a Power off option which is like the old ignition switch. Switch off and then press the brake to restart. Saves getting out of the car. I’ll check my memory tomorrow and let you know.
 
Hi

I’m new to this and my issue is that the app has logged me out and I can’t recall my password. When I’ve tried to reset it asks for my activation code which I do remember and it then states it is invalid. Any suggestions as to what I need to do. Thanks in advance.

1. Are you trying to login using the original login username: mobile number or email address?

2. If you said you forgot you password then they will send you a new link/activation code. That is the one to use. It will arrive via text/email dependent on the username you supplied.
