With the new app I found that when it reset my login details it also resets your charging target to 80% health mode.

But the killer is that the “scheduled charging” was also switched on. I never use that because it overrides the scheduling by Octopus Intelligent.

Was trying to recharge from 3% battery and woke up to ……. 3%

Worked backwards to find what went wrong.

I know the option on iSmart app but I wonder how to use iit. The time scheduled is the start of the preheat or the end of it ( when leaving) ?
I guess there must be a charge running to preheat the battery?
Ok, Good question… Before with the old app. When I open the setting, the time was one hour ahead of current time.
If I enter the settings at 13:18 it said “start 14:18”.
But now it’s is different…
I will try with setting the time to when I like to leave.
From my experience it work even when the car is unplugged.

I have an LG M200n running Android 8.1.0. My car is the ZS EV LR Trophy.
Having seen the comments here, I was hanging back from updating to version 2.0.2 (from 2.0.1) but it auto-updated and now it doesn't work. Specifically, I now get a totally black screen except for a white bar at the top. There's no text and no icons. I tried deleting and re-installing but that did not fix it.

OK. @t home I usually charge at night. My goal would be that, after a night charge, I started my daily commute with 80% SoC (health mode) and a preheated battery. How could I do that with the app ?

Android 8.0 is the earliest version that will work with smart. Could be new features clash with your particular phone as all manufacturers tinker with the software.
Goole Play Store ismart
Go towards the bottom of the page, click on about this app and it will tell you if your phone is supported.
If not I can very much recommend the Google Pixel 7a £400ish new, excellent camera, un-messed with Android.

Thanks for your advice, which I have followed. Scrolling down I see

So it's not that.

I had exactly the same problem with android 8, even though play store said my phone was compatible. I ended downloading the APK earlier version of iSmart, disabled auto update and seems to have cured the problem. HTH.

So it's not that.
Android is strange, I have a game for my toddler installed on my phone which it is apparently incompatible with. It works fine. I created a separate user account for him so he couldn't wipe stuff off my phone accidentally and they won't let me install the game on that same phone.

Have you investigated rooting your phone and putting a non-manufacturers updated software on it? I did this with my old Samsung S3, liked the hardware hated the software.

I was waiting for my sister in the hospital waiting room today & looked at the MG iSmart app reviews in the Google play store.
Dear me! not one single person had anything positive to say about the mess they've made of it.
I pick my new gen 2 Trophy ZS EV up next Tuesday & shall be giving that iSmart app a wide berth until it's been fixed. (y)

You may be waiting a long time.
If the features in iSmart are of use to you, it's worth trying. Otherwise it's not worth the hassle unless you get pleasure from banging your head against a brick wall.

I have to say, apart from a few lost connections and having to issue a remote control command more than once, the app works OK. Not brilliant, but not the worst I've used.

Well my experience couldn’t be any farther from the reviews. It has worked beautifully compared to everything I’ve read. A bit clunky at times but it’s in version 2.0.3 which means three bugfixes since release. Not only was it not fire and forget you can tell some stuff improved. I use it daily.

I've just bought a new ZS Trophy LR and I was told by the dealer that binding was not working at the moment, and to wait for MG to sort out their servers before I could do it. But reading on here it looks like people are able to do this so I looked into it a bit more.

The car screen has both a bind and unbind option. When I click bind in the car it comes up with the QR code but the app just says service unavailable.

When I click unbind on the car I get the attached message saying that the binding was successful and I need to unbind in the app!

Is it normal for an unbound car to have this option? Or does the car somehow think it's bound but the app doesn't? If so, is there a way to force it to try again?

I think a lot of perceived problems are actually caused by the car needing time to "wake up"
especially after an overnight "sleep".

I usually open the app, and run a scan, if this doesn't work I refresh the home page. Almost always the car wakes up after a few seconds, the scan will run, and we are in business - run the front screen demister, air con etc it all works now. The odd times it refuses to speak to the car I put down to server delay/problems, and though annoying, it usually jumps into life after a while.

It's frustrating, but was very similar behavior to my Renault Zoe, so I'm used to it, and just accept it when it doesn't work, and smile when it does! Remember Windows 95? :p

It says If you need to reconnect then unbind in the app. I have a ZS Mark 1 with no app, but that condition seems important to me.

The attachment shows that the account has successfully bound to to the car. This would imply that the phone app should work. What are you finding when logging into the app?
