Personally I couldn't use the app for anything between 8pm until 5am when I woke up and tried again (successfully) however tonight I am having the same issues with connectivity "unable to complete request please try again later"....but I need to charge my car now!!

The attachment shows that the account has successfully bound to to the car. This would imply that the phone app should work. What are you finding when logging into the app?
Yes I agree. That's why I wonder if there's a problem with the car rather than the app. Honestly, I didn't notice if this option was there the first time I tried this, as I've been trying several times a day since I got the car a week ago without success.

The app just says To bind, every time I try to do anything. I am logged in. The car says to unbind via the app, which I can't do because the app it says it isn't bound!

It says If you need to reconnect then unbind in the app. I have a ZS Mark 1 with no app, but that condition seems important to me.
Yes I think so too, but it isn't my account that's bound (see post above this one). Despite being a brand new car a week ago, is what seems very odd.

Your original post mentions the dealer commenting on the app. Is it possible that they have bound an account to the app?
They told me that MG are having problems with their app/servers at the moment so if it didn't work not to worry and wait for an update.

That does seem to be true, but it seems more like a capacity issue so i'm not convinced, as it doesn't look like people here are having the same issue I am.

It does seem like it's already bound to something - either to another phone, or to mine but it's glitched and I can't actually see it. I may just have to go back...

Your dealer said that 'Binding was not working at the moment'. I wonder if they had set up up an account and bound it but then something had gone wrong so they didn't realise what had happened.

If you haven't already done so, try deleting and reloading the app

Same here - updated iOS to 2.04 ! - needed to change my charging from 80% to 100% as on a long run today but app wasn't connecting (tried up until 1am today when I got in) - forced my charger to go to 100% in the end - just fired up the app this morning and it connected and confirmed 100% battery SOC and 285ml range available (thankfully the bad weather has gone for a bit!) ... so app seems to be working now!

The iSmart app is very temperamental, more often than not it refuses to connect to the server or the car wont connect to the server. It's very annoying in this cold weather when I want to preheat the car. Think it was written by the same chap that wrote he infotainment software, both are flaky.
I share your frustration regarding iSmart connectivity. It sometimes goes for days or weeks without connecting (try again later!), and then suddenly starts working again. I have learned that no amount of fiddling works, and you can easily make it worse (having to reinstall and rebind). I think we have to accept the one star reviews are for a reason: it is the most unreliable App ever! Come on MG: give us all a decent App to match what is a great car!

I have a MG ZS EV 2020 version and I want to connect it to the app. I can't find the qr code in the settings. Am I looking in the correct place?

Wonders never cease! I managed to set up the account & bind the car (2023 ZS EV SR Trophy) without any cursing or head scratching which is a first for me, (y) :D

I’ve been shut out of my MG account, app. It won’t accept either of my new verification codes! Not ideal, as you can imagine, just as I’d been thinking the new upgraded app was so much more reliable 😂 . Anyone point me to the solution?

The app appears to be down again at this exact moment - this is a regular occurrence and likely not just you (and me) so don't worry too much. Try again tomorrow!

Hi. Last week I took delivery of my new 2nd Gen ZS EV Long Range (with panoramic roof!) and since then I’ve had no end of problems trying to register my phone number or email address on iSmart. And then when I did manage to register it, I couldn’t get the app on my phone to bind with the vehicle. I eventually solved the problem and I’m recording here what I did for anyone who comes after me and who encounters similar problems. This may just be the solution you need!

My Android phone - a Samsung Galaxy S20 5G – seemed to be the root of the problem. I just could not get the iSmart app to recognise either the phone number or my email address in order to unlock the Register button. I then loaded iSmart onto my Android tablet – a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE – and tried registering that way and…BINGO!

I was then able to login to iSmart on my phone but when I attempted to Bind the account to the vehicle using the QR code I got repeated failures and the dreaded “try again later” message. So, instead of using my phone I reverted to my trusty tablet inside the car on my driveway where I get a good Wi-Fi signal and again…BINGO!

With the vehicle and account bound together then iSmart on my phone can now “see” the vehicle and I can use all of the app’s functionality on either the tablet or the phone.

As I say, the phone seemed to be the root of the problem. Why? Who knows – but by now I don’t really care.

Is the iSmart app working for anyone today? I have not had it connect to the car since mid day today. I'm on the latest version, it worked till late morning and ever since hasn't worked.
