BP Pulse do not have the best of reputations of working well with MG.

However I got an old Polar 50kW one working fine thankfully (as it was only a short walk away from my destination stopover for 2 nights). I pre downloaded the app just in case and got it working on second time of trying.

There's a bunch of new BP Pulse chargers near me, they always work in my experience so far (4 visits). They aren't that fast (50kW) but they are in a shopping centre so ideal for combining with purchases.

There are also a bunch of software updates to the charging system. I have them all due to charging issues now fixed by replacement CCU, but it is worth asking your dealer to see if your car might benefit from updates.

That looks pretty much identical to the CPS charger that's five minutes walk from my house.

This always takes two goes to get it started for me. First time I always get an error message asking me to replace the plug in the holster, then when I do that the charger seems to think about it a bit, some red lights flash, and when it lets me try again everything works.

I tried to charge at two BP pulse chargers recently in Lewes and Littlehampton. Neither would charge my Trophy. The other, non-BP chargers in the area that I used worked just fine straight away. As did those on route and at home. I have read of BP Pulse/MG issues and experienced them. I've excluded them in my Zapmap preferences for now so as not to waste time.

The high-powered (I think 150KW) BP Pulse chargers don't work with MG4. BP have specifically said that this is an MG issue with communication between the chargers and cars.
The ones with serial number starting BPG that I know of.
That’s why if you know which ones they are and you let me know I can track them down.

The only time I tried to use one it was out of order, so I just went away and found another charger. If I'd known this I wouldn't have gone there in the first place.

e: these ones I think:
Those ones are the ones: if they have a BPG ID number their firmware needs updating to be compatible with the MG4.
The one near my house I’ve been monitoring and reporting, and now works. Sometimes though due to the inferior cable management they struggle to connect to the charging port, especially if the cable has been manhandled a bit.

These ones on the other hand work flawlessly:

Is it known issue that MG4 and BP Pulse are enemies and refuse to work together?
It's true I've had more problems with BP Pulse then any other with my ZS SR. But I've always managed to get it going in the end. More luck when you switch everything off and lock the car before starting. Obviously open charge flap first.

The Polar network used to be fantastic. If you had an issue it was usually the same chap on the phone you spoke to and he would restart the unit which fixed the problems 9 out of 10 times. Where the machine wasn’t working they came out and fixed it

The service went downhill rapidly after BP bought them and units were left not working for months.

I haven’t bothered with them since apart from once when I was staying in a holiday in and they had one in the car park.
