When logged into Ismart to determine the battery %, I get this error 'The remote control function failed, please try again later'

I've cleared cache

It's been going on for many days now.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Yes I can. No problem there. But the app is failing to connect to my car. It is telling me it cannot locate my car although it does when I tap on the alert that says it can’t!

I.e - it shows my GPS location on the map.

Shall do. Thankyou

Done- no luck. Still getting the same message alert that the app can’t find the gps location for my car. I’ve tried sitting in my car with the blue tooth on my phone and the synchronisation successful message shows up on the dash screen so I don’t know where to go in the car menu to track the feature to sync with the app.

I just read that you only get the first 12 months free use of the app with the purchase of a new car. After that you need to pay $50 for it to work. Do you know if this is true?

I get that message if I don't scan first - it usually scans after a few seconds, then I can go back to the first screen and it will connect and update.

Unable to log into iSmart.

‘illegal AppSendData’

When trying to log back in?

Between working OK for several months.
there are a few recent threads mentioning having to log in, 🔍 search for iSmart and it should pop-up with a couple of ideas ...

Thank you fred12345, I will have a search and see what I can find.

I have looked at various other posts and have tried logging in with original credentials as well as selecting ‘forgotten password’. To all these attempts I get the same error message:
‘illegal AppSendData’

Well, just like that, out of the blue, my iSmart decided to connect to the car after 4 weeks trying, emailing customer service which said it wasn't bound to previous owner and suggesting I check it with a friendly local dealer...

(p.s. switched off Bluetooth on my phone to use USB cable AA for navigation and found out that the car still connected to my phone Bluetooth by itself!!! Don't ask ...)

😱 I'm starting to get scared of this car, if this is how AI will in the future decide what's best for us ...

I noticed on the home screen the following display:

The problem is:

- I never ‘unbound’ it

- When I press ‘Bind’ I am taken to the Login screen which still repeatedly fails with the response:

illegal AppSendData

Is there a support number within MG I can ring to see if the server that my account should be on needs switching off/on😂😂

Other people had the same illegal AppSendData notice, check previous posts on the forum, can't remember what the solution was (if any, apart from wait until it works again...)

I’ve deleted the app and reloaded current version from the app store; All to no avail.

Does anyone know of a contact number or email address for support from MG/iSmart please?

01216 550365 or email [email protected]

but, don't expect any solution over the phone. likely to be told to visit a dealer. maybe ask to reset your account (or delete) and unbound your car so that you can start from scratch?
