Did find it strange they said no free way no tolls so i couldnt get it to 100 kph to see for myself what the vibration is like !!
Probably that's why they said "no freeway no tolls" so you couldn't experience the vibration for yourself, so as not to put you off. If that's the case, that was a bit naughty. Besides most people, interested in an X Power know about the vibration anyway. Obviously didn't put you off, and why should it, don't think it's really a deal breaker. Enjoy your new motor, when you get it. 🙂👍

due to buy an Xpower soon myself is the vibration bad bad or is it just a little bit?

I am assuming with the car still under warranty it will be needed to fixed at some point?

If its not to bad I'm not overly fussed about the vibration i wont be on the free way much mostly just short drives around my area ..

test drove one yesterday never pushed it crazy hard think I hit 90 km/h around a bend car performed great ..

Is it a perfect car NO compared to my current drive 2012 volvo S60 T6 R design with the Polestar tune the MG4 X power is a great little car for it price.

Obviously coming from a 2012 to a 2023 it going to be better ..

But I think I'm going to change the boots to pilot sport 5's they have been on my Volvo for over a year now and wear is great ( like 100 times better than the 4's ) and handling is great ..

M8.
Everybody's feelings about the vibration is in this and other threads.
Subjective, Subjective, Subjective.

We all feel things differently.

One man's (or woman's) minor vibe is another man's (or woman's) cattle grid.

Honestly for me, it’s very minor and I don’t really notice it unless I want to.

Do you think if you didn't know about it, you would actually notice it. Or is because people have read about it, and are waiting for it, that they think it's there. Hope that makes sense. 🙂

Honestly m8, I reckon that unless you have a particularly severe case, a lot of folk would think it normal.

Over many miles of motorway last week I completely forgot about it, that's how minor it is for me.

Most of the time I was doing an indicated 70mph, and on several occasions when I was "feeling" for it there was nothing.

I actually said to the wife that the vibes were gone.

But of course, they returned later.

It really is most bizarre.

I drive 200miles motorway every week.
Definitely notice it big time in mine...like a constant drive over rumble strips, you can hear the hum in the car, it would have been back to my dealer plenty of times if the issue was not known. I just have to put up with it and pins & needles in my hand from the constant vibration until it is fixed.

Think I'm going to go back to the dealer today and say hey I'll buy your car if you let me drive it on the freeway first..

To be honest while the car retails for around the 60k mark in Australia it's still dirt cheap for a EV when the closest competitor is the byd seal prem at 74k every thing else EV AWD with 300kW plus is 80 to 100k..

If you want quality you pay for quality EG: bmw volvo mercedes audi etc etc ..

Not to say the MG4 X power should have these issues but its a cheap car built with a budget in mind

when i say cheap i could buy a I30 with all the bells and whistles for alot less but for a EV its super cheap

Ill be leasing the car not out right purchasing ..

To update i took the car im looking at buying EX demo car in the dark gray for a freeway motorway drive this morning and yes its got the vibration at 100kph to 120kph put it upto 130kph 140kph its gone..

I dont believe vibration is the right way to describe the issue its more like a drone that resonates thru the steering wheel ..

While im not a mechanic any more i can safely say thats not caused by tyres or wheels thats caused by motors like holding a electric shaver ( car isnt as bad more of a dull resonating drone coming thru the steering wheel )

what is strange is its like frequency so at a certain frequency you get that drone after that frequency changes so your either under 100 say 90 or over 120 to 140 kph it goes away ..

that my take on the issue how to fix that no idea past swapping out the motor causing the drone !!

Meaning they told you they would fix it?

And that is what I think is also happening in the trophy extended. It has a heavier motor on the rear axle than 64 kwh versions.

Drone, Vibes, Hum, Resonance, Jack Hammer, Cattle Grid, Extra Terestrials....

We've had them all here m8 and still the Saga continues.........

just bought the MG4 x power just got to wait for paper work and delivery to be sorted .. will deal with the issue though MG ill send them a few strong worded emails after ive got the car ..

Ive already sent them one no response there will be more now!!

Strong words mean nothing to car stealerz , leather backs have no worries riding the heat. Thats why most are x realestate agents. There is the rare good car sales person however.

No, i definately noticed it first time on the motorway, I'm quite senstive to things like that - vibrations, rattles, wind noise, tyre roar - anything like that I pick up.

What helped was that I of course looked it up and realised it was a common issue, and so without any mjaor safety concerns, I could either accept it or could have rejected the car.

For the price and performance, and that I'm only keeping the car for 2-3 years, I'm happy to live with it as I try to avoid the motorway as much as possible anyway!
