Please check your AA cover

How do you check it? I got a little business card from the dealer saying it was renewed and the contact details, but no idea how you check

I used to have this problem with my Honda Jazz. When you book the service ask for AA renewal so it should go on the servicing paperwork.

Looks like mine wasn't done either. I'm on a service plan with Drive MG Bristol so just assumed they would have done it when I got it serviced! The whole MG experience is poor to say the least, decent car, poor software, poor support.

I had a similar issue with Glyn Hopkin MK. It took weeks, and 2 return trips to the dealership to get it rectified. I will definitely get it checked on the spot when the car is next serviced.

Did anyone get there AA cover renewed when you had your mg serviced I just checked mine and mg has not renewed it
I had the same problem. Damaged my front tyre. Repair kit wouldn't work so called AA lady said I wasn't covered, explained I'd had the car serviced recently she said they hadn't registered the car. Luckily she took my word for it and and AA man arrived in 30 minutes.

I called MG Assistance (AA) to check if I had a valid recovery service with them. I had my car serviced at an MG dealership in November 2023. I was told that mine had elapsed after the first 12 months. It looks like this must be "normal procedure" as they then asked me for details of where I had it serviced and the date of the service and this was sufficient information to restore the MG Assistance for 12 months from the date of the service. I was told that this is what would typically happen in the event that I was calling with a real emergency. I would have preferred that this was automatically established by the dealership after the service.

After an earlier thread on AA issues. I phoned them to check we were covered. This was mainly because we have a personal plate on Goth Leo, and I wanted to be sure the AA had the correct details. They didn't, and my memory of the old number was wrong - apparently it came up as a blue Skoda!. But they did say that, if necessary, they will verify based on the VIN number.
I contacted the dealer (Dickons, Inverness) who corrected the details, but said it would take a while to get through to the AA. I haven't yet verified the number with the AA. The process was worth while, as I also had the wrong number in my and herself's phone, not the type of thing you want to find out if you need them

I've just called MG Assist to check ... I'm covered up until 30-Nov-24, so it looks like my dealer did do the renewal properly at the previous service last November. :)

There seems to be a link somewhere between MG & the AA, in that I have full AA cover (incl. relay) which once cost nearly £200, this year without any negotiation it came in at £95 (for all our cars, incl. VW T5 campervan - having said all this (almost never - twice?) needed the AA in nearly 40 years!)

Just rang AA to confirm renewal after service 25th March, the lady told me it's expired and get in touch with dealer to forward confirmation so that can activate it on AA portal. I have rang them and they were just closing, but the lady apologised and said she would log on and rectify it straight away.
