My MG4 was recently in for its first service looks like they did a software update as the a/c screen now comes up when you enter the car . Also the lane kepping assist seems to be less violent that it was before does anyone know if this is the case ?

They've tried to tone LKA down on the latest software upgrade. I've got history with this, but yeah, it's less vile. If you want it gone, sticker over camera works perfect.

I’ve read comments on ICE car pages and forums where the LKA is an issue just as much as it is here…my solution is to be much more focused (a good thing) on my driving. It’s hard as I’ve a farming background and have worked in the industry all my life and I do like a good look around at the countryside😂

I wondered if the steering wheel was the issue. The steering column fits centrally to the wheel, so it's equal distance to the outer. What if like a lot of cars, the fixing point was lower on the wheel, so a greater distance was made from top and sides to it. Its assist would be less powerful due to being further away. That's my thought...

If you mean the cameras in the door mirrors on the Trophy then they are only for the 360 parking cameras. The LKA camera is at the top of the windscreen.
Yep, right at the top, middle. Like a triangle cut out.

If you want it gone, simply turning it off works perfect for everybody else, at least for everybody else with an SE.

Why do you pull me down every time?
I'm disabled, I keep telling you this and that I need the ruddy thing permanently off for no nasty surprises. Yet you have a go every time I post this. You know what, I'll be glad to leave this forum as you spoil it for me every time. Is it because I'm a woman? Disabled?

If you're in and out of the car several times a day then I can see why having to disable LKA every time could be a chore. But if you only get in, say, twice a day (e.g. morning and evening commute) then taking a few seconds to disable LKA isn't exactly a chore. Not ideal though if you happen to forget.

PS - @Rolfe is also a woman. :)

Joanne, I'm a woman too. It's because I don't understand why you keep saying that you can't turn the bloody thing off. Everybody else who has an SE can turn it off. Several people have tried to walk you through the process of turning it off, and we never seem to get a straight answer as to why your car, out of all the SEs running the roads, doesn't do this.

I think Joanne's issue has been LKA self-reactivating even when she's turned it off?

And there have been conversations about fixing the theme of the Infotainment screen (Light/Dark) in case that was triggering LKA to come back on (like it did for some Trophy cars).

Wasn't the last thing also connected to the lighting (with the screen on auto). Solution was to fixate it on either dark or light..?

That's an issue that has only been reported in Trophy models, and Joanne has an SE. Back in the day when Joanne was saying she loved the car apart from this thing with the LKA I was hoping it might be a weird software thing that could be fixed with an update, but we never really got to the bottom of why it was happening to Joanne and to nobody else. And if it was related to the dark/light thing, did the usual Trophy fix you described work for her?

I'm the same and turn it off every time I get in the car.

I have certainly noticed the LKA a lot milder since my SE LR first service and updates.

Same on the ZS EV, very forceful, don't use it any more sadly

My MG 4 trophy is in for its first service. Here's hoping the update works sufficiently with the LKA as it's the only thing that spoils the other wise great drive. I know I have the option to turn it off (a dedicated button on the initial screen would do). As it annoys the hell out of me every time I get in the car. Any journey over a couple of mile I turn it off. As it's too severe and distracting. Like a child taking a tantrum.

Couldn't agree more, LKA is horrible. Surely they should fix it asap as in case of accident because of that, MG would then need to go to court.
