Had my brand new MG4 for 3 weeks and the driver's window has stopped working. It does nothing at all. The other 3 all work perfectly.

Since it stopped working I have charged the car fully, reset the info screen thing, left the car locked for 10 hours, drove the car 60 miles, still no life from the window at all.

Have tried booking it in to a main dealer under warranty but they can't see it for 5 weeks.

5 weeks is absolutely ridiculous, I'd be kicking off big time. 🤬

As per @fnegroni, disconnect the battery.

I had a rear window issue and this cured it.

When you reconnect, you will need to put all the windows fully down then fully up.

Also you will need to turn your steering wheel all the way right then all the way left.

Make sure it is dead ahead before disconnecting the battery.

Yesterday my driver's window stopped working briefly. I put it down part way as it was hot. When I tried to close it, it wouldn't work. None of the windows would operate from the driver's control panel. The child lock for the rear windows also failed to light up.

All the other windows worked from their individual controls.

I tried turning the car off, and back on. No joy. I then locked it and went in the house to look at removing the trim panel. I thought maybe connector was loose on back of control panel. By the time I'd watched that on YouTube, then grabbed some tools from the garage it had been about 20 minutes. Went to car, opened it, turned it on, and tried window one last time. It started working again.

My advice is to threaten it with some tools, and then it will spring back into life! :ROFLMAO:

How long do you leave it disconnected?

I tried 3. One never called me back and the other wanted me to pay £20 to borrow a car to get me home (main dealer and a warranty repair?)
That'll probably be for the insurance for the courtesy car. My dealer gave me a choice £14.50 + VAT for the insurance or use my own insurance and it'd be free.

Had this issue all last summer. It took until October to solve - with a new motor which had to be sourced from China. (Admittedly both offside windows didn't move in my case!)

My car was delivered with the front passenger window not working. Suspect the connectors for the windows are not secured well in the factory and all that travelling on the high seas shakes them lose.

In my case I think they just took the door card off and clicked the connections together properly

5 minutes.
Thanks. Did exactly that and the window now works.

Thanks for all the advice.

When I reconnected the battery I had to open and close all of the windows and then reset the steering wheel by turning full left and then full right.

The trip computers reset but it kept the radio presets and the binding to the app.

If you'd previously set up the CUSTOM drive mode then I suggest you check that it has remembered your settings. :)

PS - can you add your experience to this thread below please? (e.g. exactly what you did, what screen prompts you saw, etc.)

I had the same issue, and the wing mirrors wouldn't open out either 😱.
Main dealer managed to crank them open a ' secret method ' ...as for the drivers window ...a new motor was needed which fixed everything.
Took approx 3 weeks to get part

This happened to me on Day 1 of owning the car, the garage gave me a courtesy car but they had mine working again the same day.
