    Type 2 Charger

This only really relevant for the MG 77kWh or Xpower users in Australia. I have a Portable Type 2 Charger with 5pin 16A (20Amp) 3phase Plug @11kW. It was bought before I realized my partners 51kWh is Single Phase 32amp only... but having 3phase at our house we used it till I got a Single phase...

    MG4 in Australia

@markinoz no probs... spent plenty of time getting confused but sort of gotten my head around it. the Inchargex guys are in AUS so they are legit and it's done to standards. For me it was a no brainer not to get a wired one in... As good as the MG4 is it may not be my last electric car so I...

    MG4 in Australia

We have the same version and yes the same 1.3 to 1.4kW from the granny charger. We have 3 phase power to our house here and so after looking at the cost of installing a charger I went a slightly different route. I got a 3phase 32amp outlet installed on the meter box... which happens to be where...

    MG4 in Australia

@wattmatters good information. Found the same on our trip and between Macksville and Port is a dead spot atm and I am not surprised (sorry I am from Kempsey so not shocked). Ours being a 51kwh unit I found a significant difference between sitting on 110km/h and dropping back to 100 - 105km/h the...

MG4 not charging does anyone know what this error sign means ?

not sure if it's normal or not but with the 51 and with the home 240v plugin charger... It prefers the charger plunged into power and turned on before connecting to car. If I don't I have to either start the routine again or open the door and start from the touch screen.

funny I have read the specs heaps of times but I simply forget these things... although all the electric language is not to difficult to understand, there is way more information presented to you about your "fuel"... as apposed to deciding to put 91 octane in the car or don't have those beers...

    MG4 LFP/NMC batteries

Being in Oz when I was a kid in the 70's/80's driving up and down the Pacific Highway for our summer holidays... you would see a minimum of 1 VW Combi Van either on fire or left where it was burnt. I am yet to see an electric car go up in the last 5 years.

    Drastic change for me

Wouldn't touch a Tesla... I hear too much bad from the guys that work on them daily. I'd rather something half the price with only a few issues. Sounds like you had a bad car and I think the cars we are getting in Oz are better in the fact some of the early issues are more "ironed out" and the...

    MG4 Range

On my first leg of trip because I sat on 110kmh plus was testing and changing settings and driving styles... I was getting 18kwh/100km and that didn't help showing it off to mates and family dragging people off at lights etc. On the return trip I settled down and set into a 100 to 105km/h on...

    Water from underneath

In the front area of the car it should be Aircon condensation... unless it's the red coolant which should be obvious to spot the colour. Only other thing would be the Window Washer Bottle has a leak... so maybe top it up and check in a few days to see if the level drops. You could add the...

This MG4 is an uncomfortable place to be

Just did a 1200km drive and my first comment was it's the most comfortable car I have driven, in just about every way and definitely at this price point. Australia is big and we drive long distances everyday. Just to get across Brisbane and back to pickup something or take a kid to sport and be...

    MG4 Rear Wing

So the 51kw has a different lower spoiler with an extra lip to the other models with the high spoiler? When we test drove and when we picked ours up I didn't get to see the higher versions... so I assumed they where the same. Ok yeah I see... lol I just assumed they where the same without the...

    MG4 Rear Wing

Weight is a factor... the 51kw car is the lightest and the LR is aprox 100kgs heavier, with the others between that... so this will also contribute to the range. If there was coefficient drag numbers with and without that would give us a better idea. I am sort of hoping that it is slippy with...

    MG4 Rear Wing

Does anyone know what the advantage of the rear wing or spoiler has? Is there any data from MG with the drag coefficient difference with and without? I assume as the higher spec cars have them and it's an advantage but i was wondering if that was really the case or it just "looks good" I am...

    Charge Cable for trips

Hi, we got our MG4 51Kw rig in White. Very Happy with the car so far. These questions might be more specific to Australia. In the car we received the plugin 240volt home charger but when I started to look for charging stations in the Chargefox app there seems to be a lot of charging stations...
