How about this for my first car? No heater, no radio. 6 volt battery, starting handle essential!

    Journey Dartford to Norwich

I understand that Gridserve are opening a new station at Norwich in the near future. There is also an excellent Gridserve near Braintree if you take the A120 off the M11, and then travel up to Norwich via A12, A14 and A146.

    GOM gone through the roof

I would have thought that SOC of 83% and 434 volts is about right for that state of charge? I keep records of my charging and the nearest I have to compare is SOC of 80% and 429 volts.

    Stranger in town?

Today a red MGZSEV parked outside my house (Colchester). It had an EK (Liverpool?) registration. I had hoped to make contact with the driver just to natter about our cars and to offer parking on my drive if he would be returning. Anyone on here?

MG ZS EV brakes and tyres after second service

I've recently booked mine in for its second service...........service reception asked if it was manual or automatic!

    Checking charge whilst connected.

When I remember, I open the drivers door window before starting to charge and its then easier to read the display during charging..........after pressing the door button and ensuring the car keys are not near the car.

    Poor charging infrastructure

I had an interesting message from son-in-law today. He called at Membury (M4) today and there was a queue of Teslas waiting at the Tesla chargers!

    Zappi charging

Hi Kithmo, I had joined in with a discussion about Zappi charging so was referring to the display on the Zappi charger which displays more useful information than the car dash. As I've got solar panels I try to use as much free energy as possible.........as soon as the sun shines I rush out to...

    Zappi charging

Hi Les, it's a ZS and I've been very pleased with it. Hi Kithmo, using the ECO+ setting during the last few charges when the display says "Charge Complete" there is no charge, the badge is not lit and the lead can be disconnected. Previously when more solar energy has been available, at 100%...

    Zappi charging

Les, during the summer months with plenty of solar energy, my Zappi ECO+ did drop to 300watts at 100%, followed by balancing that never took more than about an hour. During the last few weeks however with less solar, at 100% the charger stopped and displayed a message saying "Charge complete"...

    Zappi charging

The ECO++ setting is only really practical during the summer months unless you have a very large solar installation. I've found that the 1.4Kw in ECO takes advantage of available solar although of course charging takes a long time! I've found that when charging at this slow rate it appears that...

    Android Auto dropping out

Being a limited technical person I just plugged my One Plus phone into one of the USBs and Android Auto has worked perfectly for well over a year (tempting fate!). Obviously I was fortunate enough to find the correct USB and had the appropriate cable?

    DASH CAM

I've had my Nextbase 312GW for at least three years. I transferred it to my ZSEV without a problem and it works fine.

    Charging guidance required

I make use of as much solar power as possible and frequently charge for two to four hours when the sun is shining! My solar generation has a max of 3.8KwH and I find that it averages about 2.0/2.5 KW charging power per hour using Zappi ECO.

    A missing mile.

For sometime I've used the figure of 4 m/kwh to calculate roughly the mileage range after charging, and this time of year I'm achieving about 4.6/4.7 on the display, so there's always a margin of safety. Having nothing better to do, I decided to make some checks by using actual mileage and kwhs...

Should I take the plunge to MG EV?

I also miss having the climate control system of previous cars and in the early days of ownership of my ZS EV I did experience condensation, particularly of side windows. After much fiddling about with the air flow and aircon controls I managed to solve the problem and it's been OK since. I...

    MGZS EV Radiator

I was making a rare inspection/check under the bonnet and realised that there are two coolant expansion boxes with black caps that require periodic checks. I'm curious........are both systems, the Battery Coolant and the Electric Drive Systems connected to the same radiator?
