At about 3000 miles from new, my MG5 has started to develop a clonking sound when the drive picks up from rest, particularly pronounced starting on a hill. Seems the warmer weather recently has eased it somewhat, but is definately getting worse, and even clonks on first brake pedal press now...

Has anyone else noticed underneath both front of sills (cills?) on the MG5, there is a huge cut away hole revealing a cavity behind the plastic closing wheel arch panel? Clearly the plastic closing panel will do virtually nothing to stop water, mud and leaves from filling the exposed cavity...
