    Highway range

Any one compared to an MG5? I was thinking of changing but was hoping for better economy, 70mph is around 3.4 on most motorways, had thought the MG4 would be lighter and lower so might beat that but seems not? Hopefully test drive on a road I know will soon to see for myself, everyone drives...

Do we need an S option ?

I only ever really use S mode, prefer the throttle response, more control. Only use E for parking for the light steering, would love the custom mode to just switch the steering at times for tight spaces. Zero difference in energy consumption, I find E throttle to be a bit scary, sudden power...

    Finance numbers revealed!

Not wishing to go into your finances but if you don't have a mortgage it would surely be much cheaper to re-mortgage and buy the car with that?

    First long drive

I'm not 100% sure, just used ABRP and imported into google maps but I did use the Exter service ones out and in and they worked well both times, just contactless. 35p KW/h and fast.

    First long drive

I always hated filling my old car up at the pump, raining, out of my way, just annoying. On this trip I actually charged longer than I needed to because I was in the middle of watching a video on youtube. The main thing I love though is the 108 KWh I've added for free at Tesco Podpoints!

    First long drive

Of course even though I tried not to I did feel a little smug driving past the huge queues to closed off petrol stations (which surprisingly didn't cause any traffic jam issues)

    First long drive

I did my first long drive, 600 mile round trip, Cornwall to London and didn't have any problems with charging stations, I traveled at night on the way there but during the day on the way back, two stops both ways and got a charging point each time without waiting and just used by debit card...

What charging cable(s) comes with the MG5?

I have the affinity deal. They've lent me a cable anyway though until the MG ones arrive

What charging cable(s) comes with the MG5?

2-3 hours at a 7kwh supermarket charger will do me for most weeks at the moment so works out pretty good seen as it's on my way home anyway.

What charging cable(s) comes with the MG5?

I've not got a home charger yet, waiting for a smart meter install next month. They've lent me a Type 2 as there are delays on them, finding it very useful at the local tesco stores for the free charge.

MG5EV Wind noise on drivers side at 70 mph

One could build an app that used the car stereo for active noise cancellation, record the noise at different speeds and then get it to phase reverse through the speakers at those speeds, would only be needed above 50mph as it's super quiet below that. I've got a long journey coming up...

What charging cable(s) comes with the MG5?

Thanks, just thought I would check. In the email thread when ordering it said it would include the Type 2 but I wanted to check that this wasn't the granny charger, I'll drop them a message. Where is the Type 2 usually stored, just in case I've missed it?

What charging cable(s) comes with the MG5?

Hi all, I've just got my MG5, loving it so far and finding I can easily get 4+ mile per kwh driving around the Cornish country roads (Cornwall is pretty bad for efficiency in general, lots of little hills, always knocked my MPG down compared to the rest of the south of England) Quick...

Hesitating on MG5 Long Range / Exclusive (UK)

Part of the way EVs are going to take off is if the used market starts to have decent options available. If everyone holds onto their car for 7 years this will cause serious uptake problems. It's the law of unintended consequences and what might seem like a good idea falls apart quickly when...

MG5 v VW ID.3 v Hyundai Kona Electric – Which is our real world miles per £ winner? / Electrifying

    MrKlaw in the Youtube comments seems to have worked it out: MG 3.63 m/kwh 61.1kwh = range 221.8m £26495 = £119.45 per mile of real range VW 3.67 m/kwh 58kwh = range 212.86m £28420 = £133.51 per mile of real range Kona 4.08 m/kwh 64kwh = range 261m £32550 = £124.71 per mile of real range The...

MG5 v VW ID.3 v Hyundai Kona Electric – Which is our real world miles per £ winner? / Electrifying

I watched this, they didn't seem to take purchase cost into account at the end unless I'm missing something?

Long Range Used Price in few years estimates

New model looks like being £10K+ more so I'm not too worried about the affect myself, range also isn't going to be a huge step up so it's going against a Kona/E-niro and I would probably go with one of those, well actually I think they should be down near the £25K mark so I would just wait if...

    Yes or no????

Let us know how you get on, I'm needing to do the journey to London from Cornwall (deep dark west though so 300 miles) Would be good to hear charging spot advice. I'm thinking I'll probably need to fill at 40p so it's not going to be saving a huge amount but would be good to give the car a...
