Radar damaged and repair cost astronomical- anyone got tips

No this is ridiculous, all that is needed is a bracket. I am having the same trouble!

    ACC and sensors knocked out

Is there a bump in the road? I have an issue caused by someone bashing the front of my car. The no. plate has a crease across it and it must have had a fair wallop but the brackets holding the radar gadget are now broken. The rest of the front has stood up to what must have been a fair old bash...

Rear shock spring failure LR Trophy

The roads are broken. I don’t remember so many rough roads in all my life. I travel mainly in Hants but they are beyond disgraceful. As for spares, you would think they would be shipping plenty over. With their sales figures now so high and not a massive variety of cars it ought to be easy!?

    MG Return to Longbridge?

Unfortunately they are building 200 houses on the Longbridge site, I have read.

    MG ZS EV Quality Survey

Ah that reminds me, don’t rush the start up. That is the way for things to freeze. It isn’t seriously slow but just give things time to boot up in their natural sequence. If things stop, switch off and reboot.

    MG ZS EV Quality Survey

I think it is very good. Of course I paid only £23,500 for mine, it was in the first batch. So really good value for money. When you look at the components they look as though they are from the same bin as VW. The early write ups by the motoring press showed them all up to be winkers , they were...

    MG ZS EV Quality Survey

Had my ZS EV for 3.25 years. Initial software updates were buggy but got fixed over 12 months. But I did have one failure. After charging at a Tesco Rapid charger I could not charge at home. Was advised to get the AA out and the guy said that it was obviously a software issue out of AAs ability...

    Nice efficiency

Warm weather and touring type driving, speed kept to 50 mph and below and you can stretch out the time between charging. Previously the best I got was down more or less the same route was 5.7 but in normal mode. I don’t often use Eco mode but there was a fair few motorcycles out and new speed...

    Nice efficiency

Well my ZS v1 got 6.2 yesterday! Hot day and slightly down hill on the A32 which is mainly restricted to 50. That was the screen when I got to Lee on Solent.

MG ZS EV “EV Overheat” issue at Dealership

I do think it worthwhile putting a battery charger on the 12v battery now and again. I use one of those that trickle charges and uses different modes to shake the plates electronically and renew them. My 56 Astra was sold after 14 years with the original battery showing its green pip as good as...

    Back to diesel

Whilst my Passat would do the return trip Manchester to Bodmin, 620 miles just about on a full tank of diesel from a driver’s health point of view I would want to stop twice, probably, for toilet and caffeine. I have never been able to stop at an MSA for less than 20 minutes in which time the...

    Shocking (cost of electricity)

I have an MG ZS EV too and with an Ohme charger I am on Intelligent Octopus. 7.5P for 6 hours each night and 39p day rate. I also have a heat pump which works hard at night. Overall my tariff works out at 22p on average. And yes these tariffs won't last much longer. Gas prices are likely to...

Charging issues MG ZS EV TROPHY

I could add more… The UK has been importing LNG converting it to gas and sending it to Europe via Bacton in Norfolk. If my sums are right we have been sending 30GW an hour plus exporting electricity also made from gas/lng. 3/4 GW has been sent for months now. The lng has been shipped into...

Charging issues MG ZS EV TROPHY

It doesn’t matter that we don’t get gas from Russia, it is an international market with international pricing. The suspicion that there is a shortage is enough for the markets to raise prices. But price pressures in Europe will restrict energy demand over the winter. If demand falls 15% across...

Charging issues MG ZS EV TROPHY

You seem to be set up to get Intelligent Octopus tariff. 7.5p for 6 hours 23:30-05:30 plus extra at times of plentiful power. The rest of the time you will get charged at ~39p Ohme will manage your charging via its smart system, linking with Octopus and the Grid. We have ASHP heating and expect...

    Charging at above 50kW

Good to hear you had a good trip. I get frustrated at times with rapid chargers. I too have a 2020 ZS and random chargers just don’t work. I failed at one ultra rapid Gridserve charger at Severn View but the older 60 kW one worked. And I also had my first rapid charge at a BP charger on the same...

ZS EV SR Trophy not charging on DC but ok on AC

I had a problem 2 years ago when having charged on a rapid charger I could no longer charge at all. It was resolved by reinstalling the BMS software. Fortunately I had just enough charge to get to the dealer without resorting to a flat bed. I was hoping that the Mk 2 would have these thing sorted?

    V2L to run home heatpump

My 14kW heat pump can draw up to 8/9 kW for up to 15 minutes but generally not and runs at less than 3 kW for most of the time. I think it has soft start function too so wouldn't go over 4 kW if all the settings were low. I.e. force the flow temperature low to start and the room stats low too...
