    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

I recall the reason some MGs can't use Tesla chargers is because Tesla deliberately blocked them as they were bricking the chargers. Did Tesla make a deliberate choice to do that rather than change their own software to accommodate different vehicles' implementation for commercial reasons...

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Yes, exactly this. And, understandably, many dealers are deciding to just keep their heads down.

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Just booked mine in for its second service and the dealer has had no notification of any software updates for my model (pre-facelift MG5, registered 22). It's disappointing, but about what I expected.

Can Cleevely do software updates though?

HV Battery Fault after failed DC charge still a thing?

Is this still happening to people? I haven't seen it mentioned recently. I've only DC charged my pre-facelift MG5 once, to test it out after I bought it, as I generally just charge at home,

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

I've been getting very poor mileage lately (though I've not been resetting each month). I'm doing mainly short trips with the heating full on and rear screen on, and I've had journeys come in at less than 2m/kwh, and typically just under 3.

    MG5 Range

The official range of an MG5 long range is around 240 miles, so the current figure is correct. If you were seeing more than that at first, it was likely a fluke caused by a period of super-efficient driving prior to taking the reading. The 240 (ish) miles figure is what you should get if you...

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Or the dealers are lying to cover up their own deficiencies....

Should a MG5 Long range be changed 100%

Not only is it OK but it's necessary to charge to 100% periodically to allow the battery pack to balance itself. It's all in the manual.

    MG5 Steering - a concern or not?

Never noticed anything like that in my MG5 pre-facelift.

MG5 SR Exclusive - Parking System Fault ⚠️

I take it as "I know you've just passed a speed limit sign, so you'll probably want to use the digital speedo. Let me just blank it out for 5 seconds, just when you need it most, to tell you I didn't understand the sign."

    Brake fluid usage

I've had cars in my youth (when I did my own servicing) for donkeys years without having the brake fluid changed and didn't notice any problems. In fact all my mates who were also servicing their own cars weren't even aware of it as an issue. I'm not saying it isn't a good idea, but I seriously...

    MG5 mark 1 charging

If it was me I'd try using a public fast charger and see how that performs. If it works OK your home charger's the problem, if it doesn't the car's the problem.

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Here's mine for April, which makes one year driving my first EV. I'm going to just leave it without resetting each month from now on, to get a full yearly rate.

Mg5 facelift model Vs preface lift

At first I was a bit disappointed at the lack of an app, but the only thing I'd ever use it for is to check the state of charge and that's no big deal. I never use the infotainment system unless I need to change a setting.

Reversing camera - where is it??

It's above the number plate near the boot release button.

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

My figures for March. Lots of short journeys and some cold spells so not the best ever. Mostly on eco & Kers 2.

    Software Versions

I've read about doing that, but it sounds iffy at best. You're probably right that there won't be much to update. Hopefully they only schedule strictly necessary updates for servicing anyway - that would make sense for both the user and the dealers.

    Software Versions

I hear what you're saying about 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' and I agree. But if there are some bug fixes for known issues surely it's better to have them done - just because it hasn't gone wrong yet doesn't mean it never will. As far as what I'm hoping for it's basically to see the satnav...
