    Charging in the rain

If I use the granny charger I place it and the 13amp socket of the extension lead under the car. The socket is in a chunky box which raises off the ground about an inch and of course its also IP65 rated.

Is everyday charging harmful for the battery ?

According to Dr Euan McTurk on YouTube (PlugLifeTelevision channel - he is a battery specialist, daily charging at 7kw upto 100% has no effect on a battery. I had the same problem and found out here that pressing the unlock button a few times will release the cable from the car, but be quick, I have contacted Podpoint and asked that they add a 'STOPCHARGE' button on the app as they do with the rapid chargers. What's your longest journey in your EV? How many charging stops?

East London to Manchester, about 250 miles each way. 2 stops going up with some atrocious weather, but one coming back when warm and dry. I was surprised how much difference it made. I taught me about having a one or two stop strategy, (bit like a grand prix). Another trip to Somerset with...

Is it ok to use a home 7kw charger with the charge cable not completely unwound?

Its certainly not good practice to have a cable wound up in any way whilst using it. It will build up heat and may damage the insulation causing it to short out or cause a fire . This is particularly due to the extended times that it is use whilst charging. Just leave it unwound on the floor...

BP Pulse rapid charging customer satisfaction poll - share your experiences

I also rated 'good.' I can't charge at home and so rely on the Pulse 7kw chargers that are sprinkled around locally. For most of last year I had no problems at all. Then as they rebranded to BPPulse their systems went haywire. My RFID card was refused and the app would start a charge but not...
