Charging in the rain

Is it ok to charge when raining? Car out side plugged in to a granny charger, anyone done this and any issues with it.

The granny is rated at IP67 (have a look on it) or should be so ok in the rain.

Look on the bright side- a good going blast of wind and rain keeps the MIDGES ? at bay.

If you're using an extension lead make sure the connection is protected, other than that, there's no issues.

I have a power outlet in the shed and got good cable a heavy duty 13amp plug and a waterpoof socket (MK). Put the MK waterproof socket on the inside garden fence by the back gate also got off EBay a granny charger holder which you can slide the charger in to it which keeps off the ground. Run the cable in to the shed so I could plug this in to the power socket, have used all year round no problem.

If I use the granny charger I place it and the 13amp socket of the extension lead under the car. The socket is in a chunky box which raises off the ground about an inch and of course its also IP65 rated.

Done it the other week, used a tough leads extension, left it on all night in the rain, worked well
