Normal tyre wear after 18k miles?

Got 32k out of my fronts...clearly I missed a memo somewhere.

    Two new issues

If it's bombed out due to AA cable getting jiggled. I find pulling the USB out and then holding to reboot has better results. Every time I've had this kind of issue it's been related to the phone/cable - me knocking it, passenger poking it, violent bump. My daily use USB cable lasted around 18...

    towbar available yet

Most likely completed the forms fully. Like the roof rail certification, I very much doubt the SR and LR are any different apart from paperwork that means one is 50kg and the other 75kg.

    towbar available yet

Mg5 pre-face-lift models do not have type approval for towing. Any vehicle first registered after 1998 requires type approval for a tow bar to be fitted. Nobody can legally fit one, so no one is going to manufacture one to fit. Making your own/adjusting one that's available on the market is also...

Looking to buy a used mg5

I would also guess taxi. Check wear and tear on drivers seat and the rear interior, there's usb charge ports in the back of the centre console, they can be a victim to clumsy passengers. Taxi use voids warranty so be aware of that. Make sure its had all of its services and check the battery...

    Insurance

My 2 cars went from £760 to £800, which I was OK with, given the average increase reported is 25% Theres a lot to be said for using a specialist broker, if you have more than vehicle or a specialist vehicle give Howden (formerly A-Plan) Thatcham branch a call. Worst case scenario, you trade 30...

    One Month of ownership

I would guess business use (private hire most likely). Mine will hit 30,000 next week. And be a week shy of 2 years old and I just use it for commuting.

MG5 long range 71 plate SOH After 62000 miles. Do you have any figures?

State of Health. It can only be read with a ODBII reader. Like all things with rechargeable batteries, EV high voltage batteries deteriate over time. The rate of this isn't linear and is also governed by treatment. Much the same as an ice vehicle, you rev the nuts off it when it's cold, it...

    MG5 Washer Jets Freezing

I've not had the halfords -20 premix freeze on me yet. But other stuff has frozen the nozels and then smeared salt across my vision instead. That was a fun commute.

    Octopus Intelligent Go says No

You need either a compatible vehicle, or a compatible charger. The MG isn't compatible, but Ohme or Zappi chargers are. Those with Mgs that have signed up have integrated to IOG with a compatible charger, which allows them to charge any EV on Intelligent.

    Octopus Intelligent Go says No

To confuse matters, octopus renamed their products. Go became 'flexible go' no longer a 12 month fix (means you're included in the price cap) and the rates are reviewed quarterly. Intelligent became 'intelligent go' not sure if they changed anything fundamental beyond the name with this one...

    Octopus Intelligent Go says No

You need to sign up for iO by integrating through the Zappi, not the MG (that doesn't have an open api)

Charging my New MG5 at home

This is definitely the point, the answer depends entirely on the users needs. In most cases the evse install costs won't be realised in savings in a single vehicles lifetime. For me it was convenience, plus confidence that I could recharge the vehicle enough for a round trip to work (70 miles)...

    First service MG5 facelift 2022

Pay diagnostics for a well documented safety recall? That service manager needs their head checking.

Lazy Lock - Remote open/close all windows. Can it be disabled?

Only way is a Faraday pouch. Can't sit on the keys by accident if it's in a pouch.

Charging my New MG5 at home

Depends on how much you need to charge and how often. A £1,000 for a 7.2kw evse doesn't necessarily pay for itself by putting more of your charging into the cheap hours of flexible Go, it starts paying itself off a lot faster if the alternative is needing to top up at a public charger as the...

    MG5 ANCAP testing

It's the petrol Rowe i5 with an MG badge from best I can tell. They usually adapt them to the target market, guess not so much here. Some of the safety ratings these days are heavily skewed to driver aids rather than physical collision protection. Looks like the Aussies still do both at least.

    A Simple Question......

I've just read the podpoint solo 1 user guide. I understand your confusion, in their attempt to cover all the bases they've seriously muddied the waters. Your charge point is smart and can handle its own charging schedule when connected to a dumb car (mg5 pre face-lift is dumb). You set the...

What should i know before i buy?

Insurance in the LR exclusive was £100 cheaper than that SR due to the MG Pilot. Check battery state of health and signs of being used as a taxi. The pre-fl 5 had clear glass (no tinting/uv coating) cannot reccomend highly enough that you get them tinted. Being broiled alive in summer traffic...

    Strange warning message

Resistance sensors. You've got it in pilot and it cant sense you've got a grip of the wheel. The car is not certified (or capable) of self drive, and will remind you of this in increasing frequency.
