I would only charge to 100% if I really needed max range, otherwise stopping at around 80% or 35kWh. This gives me around 100 miles in winter or 130 in summer but depends on conditions, speed and driving style, speed being the range-killer for a high-drag SUV-style vehicle. Good battery...
Not difficult to work out approximate state of charge from remaining range and set the charge accordingly, either timed (at 7kW) or kWh added. As mentioned above, keeping between 20% and 80% is recommended together with an occasional full charge, maybe to coincide with a long run, to re-balance...
Hi Pete - thanks. I've just had 017 done but not 010. Maybe the fuse update was a bodge until the 017 software update became available as the earlier BMS updates seem to have been.

Agree on default mode setting, screen lag and the too short time for message displays. With ACC and collision avoidance, I find these things are not as clever as they're made out to be and relying on them too much can be dangerous. E.g. when on a main road and passing a side-turning with a lower...
I've had this a few times and always due to not pressing the brake hard enough, releasing the brake too early (keep it pressed until drive selected and you are ready to move off) or trying to select drive before the ready message. Since getting into the right habits it's not recurred.
Hope it works. Do you rely on rate change detection to initiate the charge or set a timer? If the former, it might be an issue with detection in the charger rather than the car.
Batteries had a payback of 8-10 years last time I checked prices. Have you tried unlocking and re-locking your car within 3 or 4 hours of the timed charge start time? Make sure you listen for the buzz of the plug locking so you are sure it is correctly connected. The December battery software...
Hmmm - so not multiple starts as necessary to allow charging from solar surplus? Does your timer allow you to test this with maybe 3 or 4 starts e.g. 30 mins on, 30 mins off over a few hours?
For those on Facebook, Miles is a member of the MG Electric Vehicle Owners Club group which is quite active and has some useful posts (although a lot are duplicated here).
Normally due to the brake not being pushed hard enough or held down for long enough (until "ready" message) or you try to put it in gear before "ready" message is displayed. Patience needed!
I would say more than 3-4 days although, as with most things, there is no black and white answer. The possible additional degradation is debatable and likely to be affected by many other factors too. Equally, I wouldn't get overly worried if you can't for any reason but best minimise degradation...
That's fine if you use it on a daily basis and the BMS will indeed stop charging when full and not re-start to keep at 100% - it is just recommended not to leave at full charge for long periods.
But don't charge it to maximum if it not being used. 50-80% is recommended to maintain battery condition and loss of main battery charge is negligible when left unused. A week or two should be fine for the 12v battery but if longer than that maybe fire the car up to ready state which will top up...
Meanwhile, to be safe, use trickle charge to keep the car awake with cheap-rate boost. Set late evening and unlock/re-lock to ensure charging is initiated.
