It sounds like the T-Box or FICM unit may need recoding with the correct ECU. Your dealer will need to raise a Service Now (SNow) case with MG to resolve.
As @N2STY says, the grant eligibility hasn't changed. If you ordered an EV after December 2021 when the grant was stopped, then you still won't get a grant.
This is purely an extension to the time period which you can accept delivery of those cars, as previously the grant was only valid within...
It means you should speak to Vanarama and see if they will honour the original quotes, as the grants can still be claimed (contrary to what they believed would be the case).
Just had this through from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles:
Dear Stakeholder,
We wrote to you in August 2021 and again in April 2022 confirming a temporary extension to the period for Plug-in Vehicle Grant orders to reach ‘completed’ status on the grant portal from 9 months to 12 months...
The Plug-in Car Grant, which was recently limited to £1,500 off cars up to £32,000 has been stopped as of 7am on 14th June 2022.

An email was sent to dealers around 8am this morning...
The car which has been shown in the spy shots is a completely new EV-only architecture, and not a modified MG3.
It should be shown to the public in April, as far as I know.
They've just messaged me to say that they made it back to Manchester - excellent proof of the MG's ability to charge repeatedly without any overheating or slow-down issues:
The guys set off this morning on their epic trip. You can follow their progress on: 3400 Mile Gibraltar EV Challenge
Please consider making a donation too, it's for a very good cause👍
There is an Ora lineup, but the Cat is the first model. I'm looking forward to seeing the other models later in 2022. Hopefully Cherry, and Lightening. (y)
Just to clarify, I'm not doing the journey myself. We're sponsoring, and helped to arrange the loan car from MG, but I'm not doing the driving. I'll be otherwise engaged at MGs press launch for the ZS EV when they'll be arriving in Gibraltar.
One of our customers is doing a charity drive from Manchester to Gibraltar to raise money for Walking With The Wounded.

Originally planned to use a ZS EV in 2020, due to delays (Covid restrictions) they are now attempting it next week in a MG5...
