Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Interesting, but why does your profile picture look nothing like the picture of you in the media? Just makes us all suspicious of the story. Maybe provide an update, how's the car driving now?

MG ZS EV Door handles locks faulty or is there a knack?

Took mine to dealer last Friday as NSF door not opening about once a week. They have done an adjustment, but said if not fixed they would order a new lock. Now fails to open every other time it's tried. New lock on order.

MG ZS EV Door handles locks faulty or is there a knack?

Disappointed that my new ZS TLR has an intermittent issue with the NSF door. Booked in for next Friday, but expecting hassle as it is intermittent. Sometimes doesn't open even after switching off and unlocking, so have to walk round the car to open from the outside.

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

We currently have a Leaf (till next Friday) Having a Type 2 is not an issue, it's what we have. The Leaf came with a Type 2 to Type 1 cable which we found a bit short, so bought a Type 2 to Type 1 adapter to go on the end of our 7m Type 2 lead.

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Just had confirmation that my car is at the dealers (Howards Taunton) and I'm collecting next Friday. LR Trophy in blue. Still don't understand why I'm getting my car after 10 months wait when others seem to have been waiting over 12 months.

What % should I routinely charge a MG ZS EV LR to?

For the LR I would go further and say if your normal use is only 15%, charge to 60 or 70%. The higher you charge the quicker the battery capacity will degrade with the LR battery chemistry.

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

That's my point, this wouldn't happen in normal driving with the mod, as you would lift your foot off the pedal slowly, not take it right off as in the video. So minimal additional strain on the bearings. There isn't extra time using regen as there seems to be little differance between ACC with...

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

Yes, understand that, my query was why using the hack could cause failure of the motor/regen system. Given that it duplicates normal driving without ACC. The only differance I can see from normal driving is that it can bring the car to an almost complete stop without using the brakes. I can't...

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

That's not with ACC, that's normal driving and lifting off the pedal to stop the car. It's done to show how quickly you can stop the car. In normal driving you would lift your foot slowly and the regen wouldn't activate as strongly. This is the benefit of one pedal driving and probably the only...

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

I don't follow the logic here, what is the difference between driving the car with this hack and not using ACC. Every time you lift off the accelerator to slow back to the speed limit the regen will activate. The system should be designed assuming that the driver never uses ACC, as several...

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

The mod as shown in the video instructs the regen before the car would normally apply th brakes. The brake pedal still functions fully and uninterrupted. This is why the speed keeping going downhill is better with the hack (regen) than with the MG system. The regen command goes on the canbus at...

MG ZS EV One pedal driving

Not an issue, they know what the maximum normal regen is, so they limit the regen at this level, so no different or heavier load than the system can handle.

    Trade-in valuation when buying MG

Thinking along similar lines, will check there offer against webuy and motorpoint before going to collect.

MG ZS SE not allowed to fit a roof box

Yes it was a bit of sarcasm, but meant in a light hearted way. You can't expect anyone to officially state that the roof is strong enough to take a roof box, or that it is the same strength as the SR in other regions, even though it will be. They wouldn't make press tools just for SR for UK...

MG ZS SE not allowed to fit a roof box

Miles isn't commenting on the strength of the roof, but on the legal position regarding the warranty. It's your car, fit roof rails and box if you want, you could even re-program the ECU, fit 30" wheels to the rear and a fake air scoop to the bonnet, just don't expect the car to be covered under...

    Trade-in valuation when buying MG

We are trading in our Leaf for the ZS EV LR Trophy. When we did the deal in May22 with a predicted delivery of eptember 22 ( LOL ), we were told the trade-in price was guaranteed. However, on reading the contract terms it appears that for every 30 days after failure to deliver they can reduce...

My first 100% MG ZS EV charge

I see a lot of comment about 270 mile range, but this is the WLTP so not applicable except when comparing different models/brands, and then only useful with an efficiency figure. If you look at the driving type, City driving is 230-340 (cold-mild) and motorway is 160-200. So depends on whether...
