MG ZS EV Wiki - useful Information

On my Gen 1 car it definitely fires up the brake lights when in KERS 3 - no question about it. I check in the rear view mirror and look for road signs on the opposite side on the road - easy to spot.

MG ZS EV Wiki - useful Information

Hi there, l've had mine for 2yrs and 20,000 Kms and I still get a bit exited every time I drive her. Consumption during colder months is 14kw/hr per 100 Kms and I charge overnight at home using a standard quality domestic socket. Works like a dream...

ZS MK1 Range and your experience?

Hi Simon, I've had our October 2021 ZS EV Gen 1 car since October, she has done about 19,000 km. She is charged overnight from a quality outdoor socket from midnight to 8am and is always fully charged on that regime. During the warmer months my range is about 300 km (190 miles approx) and...

MG ZS EV essence 2023 - lower kms than promised 320kms

OK I hear what you say, but it makes no sense. There is an EV with no ICE, a hybrid with a petrol engine or a full ICE version. Also why would they use the french word "essence" in a car name for New Zealand ??????????? Also, making it more confusing, I tried to search for MG NZ and I got a...

MG ZS EV essence 2023 - lower kms than promised 320kms

I'm curious about the title of this thread - as there is no such model as far as I'm aware as a ZS EV essence ???

So do you like your MG ZS EV?

Well I really like my ZS EV. It ended up costing me (bought in Dec 2021) 15,500€ and a battered old diesel van. I have done about 17,500 kms in it up to now and apart from a little mishap which started off as my fault but amplified hugely by the MG garage, it has been perfect. For 90% of the...

    Did a stupid thing !

Well of course it was never going to be that straightforward was it ? Since getting my EV back I've only used it 3 or 4 times so not much charging involved. But as I was going a bit more of a distance (birthday lunch) I thought I'd connect up and charge overnight. To my complete surprise...

    Did a stupid thing !

I don't understand this and I'll explain why. There are occasions when the car has been charging overnight and continues to charge even at 8am when I disconnect charging (at the house socket end). By your logic this could create a spike and cause damage to the car but : A. I've never suffered...

    Did a stupid thing !

Well to answer your question I'm not sure, principally because there seems to be a battle going on between the garage and the Insurance 'Expert'. I've been led to believe that the ins. guy is saying that the principal damage - front grill and new granny charger is probably 500-ish euros; but I...

    Did a stupid thing !

Hi Boys & Girls, prepare yourselves for a shock !! On thurs I received a voicemail message at mid-day saying that my car was - wait for it - ready for collection !!!!! A pal drove me down and I found my ZS EV washed, updated, door mirrors working perfectly, sunroof no longer clicking and fully...

    MG ZS EV Quality Survey

As some of you may have seen, my ZSEV has been back at the dealers for 4 months now, with no end in sight. I believe the issues my car is exhibiting are solely relating to incompetent dealers and not the factory.

    Did a stupid thing !

So, 15th May 2023 - Today I received a phone call the MG garage is currently 'resting'. I thought "hurray, they fixed my car' Oh no... A notification was left on my phone that I had missed this call whilst out riding, so I called them back. I was lambasted by the after-sales manager for...

What are peoples experiences when using a granny charger?

I've been charging my Gen 1 ZSEV for about 18 months pretty much 100% on the Granny charger with no issues.

What’s your best hint or hack that you do to make the ZS EV experience even better

My best hack or advice is to NEVER, EVER buy anything, never mind a new car, from MG Limoges. Honestly they do not have a clue about customer service, relationships and aftercare.

    Did a stupid thing !

OK boys and Girls, it's update time. Yesterday I went down to MG Limoges, on the basis of taking possession of a courtoisie car. This gave me the opportunity to talk face to face with the garage foreman and technician responsible for my car., as well as testing it myself. It was nice to see...

Or a sign which says "Don't be an incompetent git again - check the flap !!!" Thank you very much for posting the pics of the charging flap assembly. On the second pic - front of charging flap - there is a component with what looks like "Radar" markings on it. On the 3rd pic you actually see...

    Did a stupid thing !

Well boys and girls I have news. Apparently the garage has started repairs. During the repair of certain lightweight cables the person did something, which affected the circuits relating the the windscreen based camera and ACC. So now the car - which has never done this in the past - is...

    Did a stupid thing !

Hi Bodgerx and thanks for the link. Up to 300€ sounds OK but I got three quotes last year from approved companies and they came out at between 1800 and 2000€ for a 7 kw/hr charger. So it would still cost me 15-1700€ to have a quicker version of home charging ??

    Did a stupid thing !

I just did a quick search on Amazon.fr and it was an aftermarket one. My MG granny charger is in the boot of my car, which is still at the garage being repaired, so I couldn't check it. Re the Granny charger output, it depends on what I end up using once my car is fixed, will it be the MG one...
