    Taking you car to France?

Kind of interesting article but always lacking in up-to-date, accurate info.

Happy buying a car from a country that is becoming increasingly authoritarian, repressive and on the brink of offering lethal support to Putin?

Look at your I-phone or Samsung phones for instance, they are (not solely) made in China. Just about anything with electrons in it is either partially or wholely made in China. If we are prepared to pay the extra for having stuff made 'in the West' but most peeps just aren't.

    New FREE charging points coming...

Hi Guys 'n gals, went to Guéret in the Creuse yesterday and came across lots of foundation and supply work going on outside Carrefour/Crescendo. Carrefour are installing 2 x 22 kw and 3 x 150 kw chargers. It looks as though if you've got a Carrefour fidelité card and if you use the 22 kw...

    Is "ECO" Mode Misleading?

It may change things on an MG5, but on my gen1 ZS there is no heating button labelled "Econ" and the output of the HVAC is unaffected by driver mode selection.

    Is "ECO" Mode Misleading?

What Eco mode is quite simple and I find very useful. It alters the 'map' for the accelerator pedal. In other words in Eco the pedal delivers softer power delivery than in Normal or Sport. It makes slow speed driving smoother and more pleasant; this in turn means you use less 'juice' in urban...

Home charger - what do you use?

I use a good quality Leclerc double socket fed by heavy cable, then I plug the granny charger into that. It get's plugged in at about 11pm before I go to bed and unplugged at about 8am so the vast majority of my charging is on cheap rate. I find that gives me more than enough juice for the...

    Qilin batteries

Well I watched the video and, to me, there are two big takeaways : 1. "Qilin battery will give 1000 kms range" - Oh will it, and in what vehicle? What weight? What powertrain ? NONSENSE. The battery on it's own does not solely determine range of an EV. It is merely a component - an important...

    Any electricians out there ?????????

Hi BE and thanks for your reply. My house has three phase coming into it, but when the 'Linky' the intelligent meter was installed I am told that I now have single phase. I don't normally like paying others for doing jobs that I could myself, but I can't help wonder if on this occasion it...
