Removing MG5 drive selector centre disc.

That's what I thought, the replacement is just the metal disc which sticks to the control knob, as the adhesive is all the way round the disc it will be very hard to lift it off! Which is why I think they remove the knob to make it easier to lift the disc, will need to have a think!

Removing MG5 drive selector centre disc.

Has anybody changed the silver centre disc on the drive selector? MG 5 pre-face lift. The centre bit of the 'P' fell out, I've got the replacement disc which uses a self adhesive pad all the way round. Will be a pig to try and peel it off in the car, so was thinking about taking the selector out...

    MG5 Off Peak Home Charging

Using the Ohme go evse with the commando type plug. Using Octpus Go which gives me 4hours cheap charging from 00:30 to 04:30 at 7.5p per Kwh. That ends in a few days so just setting up Intelligent Octopus, hopefully all should go OK.

Whats everyone's thoughts on the negative ev press ?

It is very odd at the minute, bought my second hand MG5 LR exclusive in May 2022 for £28K with 2000miles on the clock. I thought I'd see what I would get for it now, a couple of dealers wouldn't take it as P/EX and one would, but only offered me £17'800, it now has 10500miles on it. That is a...

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

A mix of A&B roads, at the speed limit or just under. Air con on auto at 19 - 20degrees for most of the month. Normal mode KERS 2 Happy so far! The first few days of September have seen a drop though as the temperature has been in single digits in the morning!

Intelligent Octopus 6 hours at 7.5p per KW

No outbuilding. Garage at the end of the garden with no power, everything is against an install. Will look at insulation and replacement windows first I think and then putting everything on timers to run on the cheap rate. It's going to get very expensive!

Intelligent Octopus 6 hours at 7.5p per KW

Looks like I will change to the new Octopus rates then look at solar and or battery storage. It's a managed estate and they are funny about solar on the roof at the minute. So do I get a battery installed and charge that on the cheap rate, then hopefully later fit the solar panels. Can't afford...

Intelligent Octopus 6 hours at 7.5p per KW

Yes, hadn't realised that my Octopus Go fixed rate ends in Feb 2023. It's going to be an expensive winter for a lot of people that's for sure!

Intelligent Octopus 6 hours at 7.5p per KW

The rates are too high for me, 7.5p between 23:30 and 05:30 all other times it's just over 39p The standing charge increases from just over 23p a day to just over 44p a day!! I think I will stick with Octopus Go!

Best place to sell my MG 5

Cazoo bought my Vauxhall Corsa-e, all very straight forward and easy. I got back £500 less than what I had paid for it, after 3months of ownership and putting on another 3K miles. The did have it listed for over £3.5K more than they gave me, but I was happy for a quick hassle free sale because I...

    Long Range here we come!

I have the Ohme charger which uses an app to do delayed charging. Can also be used as a dumb charger as well. It's a good charger and the support team are quick to rsspond.

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

Electric hook up is for camping use. I wouldn't want to risk using the granny cable. It is 16amp supply to the pitches but maybe not up to continuous current draw for charging. Although speaking to the owner she is looking at putting in a charging point!

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

Thought we'd give it a run out! Crafty camp, everything fitted in the car! 115miles travelled 113 left at 49% 65mph on 70mph roads ACC set at 65 or 60 depending on the road. Normal mode and KERS 3 After having a Vauxhall e-corsa this is a breath of fresh air with the battery % being displayed...

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

She would think that's funny! I have no idea why this tracker unit was fitted or who fitted it. I bought the car from Cinch so the people they bought the car from must have had it fitted or Cinch themselves had it fitted. It's only got 2400miles on the car so makes me think, the tracker was...

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

Managed to see the box. telematics GV300TP unit. Whoever installed it obviously didn't know what they were doing or understand the consequences of connecting into the OBD. Waiting for someone to come and fully remove it. It's got power to it, so for now I've just cut the negative wire to make...

Alarm going off when charging MG5 LR

I have no idea what it is, looking up from the drivers foot well the box is quite big looks to be behind the door mirror controls and start button. My guess is a telemetry box, but the car only has 2400 miles on it and usually they would only be fitted to bring the insurance down for younger...
