Normal tyre wear after 18k miles?

The state of our roads in Aberdeenshire probably doesn’t help either. I got 23k from my original front tyres and changed them in Nov for Verstein winters.

MG5 Pre facelift (LR) tyre choices

My original Bridgestones did 22k miles on the front. Rears are still ok. Fitted Verstein Quatrac Winters to the front this week. Feel very grippy. £219 the pair fitted.

MG Gillanders in Aberdeen and Peterhead leaving MG group end of August…

This is bad news in my opinion. The bigger they are the worse the service. Never been impressed by Peter Vardy or Arnold Clark. Never found them particularly helpful. Sales staff usually don’t know what they’re talking about and service departments are poor. They just seem interested in...

Likewise, never topped up in 18000 miles

    Second Hand MG5 (21 Plate)

My MG5 Excite was purchased new from this dealer. We also have a new MG ZS from same dealer. I don’t think you will have any worries, they have been great so far. There’s also Gillanders in Aberdeen who serviced ours after the 1st year, approx £100 each car. If you are like us you will...

What do you think of mg5 insurance 32d?

I feel really sorry for young drivers. £522, Excite LR, 2 drivers, 15k miles per annum, incl business use. 5 years NCD.

    MG5 pre-facelift central display change

Anyone fed up of the normal coloured display can switch to the clock only display just by pressing and holding the large dial for around 5 secs. I find it much nicer when driving especially at night. Also, once chosen it stays as a default. Probably somewhere on this forum already but worth...

    1st service cost MG5 (2022 older model)

Just had my 1st service at 13k miles. No issues. Cost £138 inc VAT. Sure beats our last ICE cars. Long may it continue.

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

I wouldn’t worry about looking for a Tesla charger. Once you’ve got your CPS card you’ll find they’re everywhere up here and cheaper. e.g. we just travelled up from England yesterday. Abington Services chargers including Tesla very expensive. 1 mile away CPS charger in free car park much cheaper...

Mg5 facelift model Vs preface lift

Even better, there are a few Excite models with 10k miles for under £20k. I have one of these, no issues, lovely car.

    SE or Trophy

You didn’t need a 360deg camera when you passed your test. The cloth seats in the SE are not cold in the winter, a couple of minutes with the car switched on clears the windscreen and heats the cabin. Folding mirrors, ok but not a big issue. SE more than enough money to spend and you get nearly...

    SE or Trophy

Lower spec new would be my choice. The SE is slightly lighter so will have better range. You also have choice of colour and you are the 1st owner when it comes to trade in. You honestly don’t need the extras the more expensive car has.

    High Beam Lights

On a slightly different tack do you think the standard factory fit headlights are fit for purpose? It’s really the only think I hate about the car. However, I see another thread related to this now, but can’t delete this comment.

Had my MG5 a week already

I agree, the digital speedo is very accurate. The analogue one reads around 3 mph more. I wish it had about 100 mph as it’s top reading though and not the ridiculous 150 mph. I’d like to read 60-70 at the 12 o’clock position rather than at 8 o’clock. A minor gripe but it seems most manufacturers...

    Hesitation

I started off using eco and kers 3 but found it a faff always having to remember when switching the car on. I just use default (normal and kers 2) now. Very little range difference and car performance is improved.

We’ll that’s my 1st month done in my MG5. Scottish roads and weather. Usually kers3 normal mode. Very few issues so far.
