Would you expect rear lights on with Daylight Running Lights (DRL)?

Really? I can understand the need for pedestrians to be able to see EVs especially due lack of engine noise, but no rear lights for the drivers that seem to fail to see your vehicle in 'bright conditions'....

Would you expect rear lights on with Daylight Running Lights (DRL)?

What brain dead moron wrote the legislation not to require rear lights at the same time as front, the front ones aren't as obviously needed as much as the rears, we're all (or should be) watching the the front, it's the rear we can't always be sure of...

    Hesitation

Hello all, Texted the Salesman whom I purchased through, his reply was " If you're driving in Eco then there will be slight hesitation in setting off, it will feel laboured. However in Normal and Sport the hesitation won't feel as laboured. Please try this and let me know your thought"... As...

    Hesitation

Good evening all, Might I ask a question on here, I've had my MG5 LR since 1st August22. In that time I've done 3280 miles and mainly drive with KERS3 and Eco mode activated. Sometimes when needing to jump into a gap in traffic say from an acceleration lane, I get a bit of hesitation from...

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Found my 3pin 13 Amp energy display thingy, it shows Volts, Watts, Amps and kWh. Plugged in the Granny charger last night through the display, car HV battery was at 48%. Switched on at 18:00 and ran through the selections, V 240, W 2295 but forgot to check Amps but never mind. Checked the car...

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

In the short period of ownership, that has become second nature now, switching to Kers3 and Eco mode, even before driving off, or very soon after.

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

I believe the magnetic medium plate is attached with adhesive to the fabric of the roof lining, my plan was to add a few drops of superglue, or similar between that plate, and the magnet of the lamp base.

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

Thanks Ian for the insight, my car is on contract hire so I'll be looking at one of those USB rechargeable magnet lamps, as I don't want any excuse for excess payments in 4 years time.

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

I was hoping it is a magnetic usb rechargable one, I've looked on Ali-Express and fleabay, but not found one remotely looking like it.

    New first time ev owner

Hi Les, thanks for the info, my MG5 is the LR Exclusive 61.1 kWh battery, I have had 2 100% charges at home on the 2.2kWh (Granny) showing over 300 miles, 1st 303, 2nd 313, also thanks for the heads-up on Mollie's, I've made a note on my phone, just updated my Sig to show actual vehicle, as...

    New first time ev owner

As another first timer on this forum, I've posted a few times about various things, however I didn't ask at the time about the most economical way to drive an MG5 on a long journey, I've had an unnerving experience of nearly running out of Battery/Miles, ended up at home with a lot less than I...

The one really irritating thing about the MG5...

Only had my 5 for 3 weeks, what bugs me is that you have to go through clicking on the SatNav then accepting it, my old car had the same system from Naviextras, albeit in a Pioneer Infotainment addon, but it started up itself, momentarily pausing at the OK bit, then carrying on to the map, next...

Charging to 100 % on 7 kW home charger.

My previous car was a 2008 Peugeot 308, it did very good fuel mileage on the whole, worked out at 10miles/litre, £99 gave us 50.5 litres and we did on average 500miles. Since using the MG5, my eyes have been opened very wide to the electric advantages.

Charging to 100 % on 7 kW home charger.

Hi there, yep downloaded the app and signed up there and then, even put in a £30 topup, pressed 'Confirm' but to the wrong point, then did 'Confirm' the correct point, whilst in the cafe I did check if there might be any progress, I may have mistakenly pressed 'Confirm' again, but cannot really...

Charging to 100 % on 7 kW home charger.

I took possession on Mon 1st Aug @ 18:00, drove from Hessle(Hull) along the A63 onto M62 then M18 to M180 onto Scunthorpe, the salesman didn't tell me the bloody thing steers itself, quite unnerving really, anyway got that crap turned off eventually. Since then we've travelled quite a bit...

Charging to 100 % on 7 kW home charger.

Hello folks, Does anyone know how much the 3pin 13amp charger that came with car gives out, I asked the dealer and he said he didn't know, or wouldn't tell me in case it put me off. It seems to happily charge from 30-60% to 100% overnight in about 10 hours. Since I've been using the charger from...
