    Services & Service Plans

Also why the £40 increase in price between year 1 and year 3 given that they seem to do nothing in either of them.

    Services & Service Plans

I did find this, just seemed silly that it wasn’t contained in the actual quote to give an idea of what you were getting rather than have it elsewhere on the website. A bit like the car I suppose, basic stuff but a good price.

    Services & Service Plans

The online quote on the MG website is handy, but gives no information of what each service entails. For 3 years it is quoting £188 for the services (£27, £98 and £63) comes to £220 with charges etc giving payments of around £8 a month. Would be nice to know exactly what it includes though.

    Headlights

It is back home. No fault showing under testing but MG are shipping a replacement part (presumably a new sensor) to be fitted once it has flown its way over here. Mangoletsi were superb as always and worked hard to get answers from mg despite the time differences.

    Headlights

Car went in to garage yesterday as it still fails to distinguish between night and day, meaning the main headlights are always on. The garage have tested everything but can find no fault. We now await a response from mg in china. Fingers crossed.

    Roof rails (again)

I suspect the answer lies hidden. There may well be supporting structure that we can’t see increasing the load rating rather than the difference being the less crucial rails on the surface.

MG5 - No airbag deactivation switch

Haven’t found one. The manual just states (very regularly) that child seats shouldn’t be placed on the front seat. Must confess I’ve never used the deactivation switch on any car I’ve had as I always put the kids in the back. Seems strange not to fit one, but then I always thought the idea of...

MG5 Long Range difference in the boot?

Possibility to raise boot floor? Looks like a crease along the floor about the same width as the fittings suggesting the ability to lift it whilst the back stays in place?

    KERS experiment

It seems to allow selection of kers 3 at different values depending on who knows what factors I have been able to get it at 99 some days and been frozen a out until 94 on others. I would say that the effect of kers 3 doesn’t really get close to the full effect until you drop under 80%.

    Windscreen Wipers

There is a park mode to allow you to lift them up.

    Miles/kWh

I got very similar results driving home after a run out round the cat and fiddle. Still sat at 3.9 for the average over the first 3000 miles. Keep hoping it will pop up to 4 but I suspect I do a few too many short journeys.

Best price for an Exclusive MG5

Yes, brand new. It was during lockdown so the garages were competing hard for any sales they could get. Think they were all on a bonus from mg if they could meet their targets, so they were prepared to lose on the sale to make the target.

Best price for an Exclusive MG5

Not on affinity scheme. Black, £21.5k. Mangoletsi in Knutsford. Again trade in price given was £1000 better than expected. Started off getting quotes from car wow and worked from there.

    I'm in need of sympathy

Well after having mine hit with a gate, the repair was done yesterday and would you believe it, the guy who let go of the gate has already transferred the cash across to pay for it. Turns out people are actually nice and decent and trustworthy.

    Steering Lock Squeal?

I have to say, I don’t find the brakes particularly good. Had to stop pretty sharply last week and it was very tough to stop when the regen wasn’t picking up some of the effort.

    Not a daft question.

It does, but I just tested it for you and it’s well covered in a nice plastic bit so there aren’t any nasty sharp edges. Very user friendly as sticky out bits at head height go.

    Squeaky dashboard.

I will lend you my kids. All other noises soon fade into the background.

    I'm in need of sympathy

Someone hit mine with a gate a couple of days ago £250 to take out the dent and respray the panel 😢

    Miles/kWh

It ought to be incredibly accurate, the car should be able to calculate the energy it has used far more closely than an Ice could, the error in mileage is likely to be more significant than the kWh.
