demister

A demister is a device often fitted to vapor–liquid separator vessels to enhance the removal of liquid droplets entrained in a vapor stream. Demisters may be a mesh-type coalescer, vane pack or other structure intended to aggregate the mist into droplets that are heavy enough to separate from the vapor stream.Demisters can reduce the residence time required to separate a given liquid droplet size by reducing the volume and associated cost of separator equipment. Demisters are often used where vapor quality is important in regard to entrained liquids, particularly where separator equipment costs are high (e.g., high-pressure systems) or where space or weight savings are advantageous.
For example, in the process of brine desalination on marine vessels, brine is flash-heated into vapor. In flashing, vapor carries over droplets of brine, which have to be separated before condensing, otherwise the distillate vapor would be contaminated with salt. This is the role of the demister. Demisted vapor condenses on tubes in the desalination plant, and product water is collected in the distillate tray.

    Demister and Traction Control

Is it just me? There's an obvious button to turn on the windscreen demister, but turning it off appears to require you to go through a series of menus to get there, or voice command "turn climate control off". Am I missing something? Also, does the MG ZS EV LR have traction control? I seem to...

Is the defogger really that bad?

It's that time of year when the windscreen is misted up in the morning so I put the demister on to clear it. My fan is usually set to 22C with auto and I only do it to clear the screen when it happens and turn it off when the screen is clear. But I notice that my power consumption ROCKETS to...

    Demister

Hi all. Just registered as I have a question. I have been driving an MG5 for over 2 years and loved it. The one thing that spoils the experience is having to demist the windscreen over and over again when driving after any rainfall. Is this a common experience amongst other drivers and is there...

    Re Window demister.

Havin not used the rear window demister for a while I found myself in a position to have to have to turn it on this morning as my car was a bit "dewy". It took around 20 minutes to clear the screen . Has anyone else had this problem?
