12v battery

Hi

Needed a tow truck last week, battery went completely dead (12v)

I replaced the battery and again on the way to work the warning came up again, I am assuming that the battery is not recharging while in motion

Waiting on another tow truck, any ideas before I get it to a MG garage?

Well it has unearthed some annoying situations, turns out that MG never registered me for road side assist so I had to pay €150 to have the car taken to the nearest MG garage.

The car is now at the garage and I believe that the CCU needs to be replaced, I had to get the car towed home last Thursday with the initial issue and a cost of €90 to replace the 12v battery.

I am without a hire car for the duration as I have no road side assist in place and the part is most likely to be on back order so not sure on what timeline I am on.

I did get to speak with a MG rep who confirmed the oversight in the roadside assist and it is active from today ( a little too late), waiting on a call this morning for the outcome of the diagnostics so fingers crossed.

That's a poor situation then @Davecon1973, MG really should cover the roadside assist cost if they've agreed/admitted/confirmed it was an oversight on their part. It seems like another example of poor customer service spoiling a good car.

Send MG copies of the invoices and ask them to reimburse the cost of having the car towed.

I will wait until I have some resolution on the car before I engage on reimbursement so as not to get on their wrong side for now

More concerning though is that I got a notification 15 mins ago saying my airbag has triggered an alarm, surely the have not crashed my car while in the garage ???

I had that text also in our first MG.

First one text saying something to the effect of "Your car with VIN XXX has been involved in an accident"

1 second later "The airbags in your car with VIN XXX has been deployed".

If it says the airbags has been deployed, my first though is....They probably have.

Look in the app, when ours sent out those messages, the "find my MG" part of the app, changed a lot, it showed the location but with a big red ring around it instead of the normal picture.
