12v not connected properly!!!

Car delivered new, has had continual issues for 18 months which manifest themselves as the car being totally dead & then reinitialising... car cannot be locked, cannot be unlocked, screen going blank... it went for a service & the MG dealer advised no problems... car still has problems, came to a head today with a call to MG Assist & AA attending, they sorted the problem within 1 minute... the main cable to the 12v was loose & so the connector had oxidised & the connection was intermittent. He cleaned it & reattached & tightened up that connection...

A very common problem, if only the Dealer's would check them before they handed them over to us.

The PDI check list even says "Check security of 12V battery terminals and cables".

Out of interest, was it the negative cable? That seems to be the one most say needs checked, but I wondered if anyone had issues with the positive cable as well
