I have a electric tyre air pump that plugs into the 12V socket. On my ICE car I have to have the engine running so the battery doesn't go flat.

How does it work on these EVs ? If I power on the car will it draw power from the main battery and protect the 12V battery ?

Bit of a noob question but I am a noob :D

The 12V power outlet is only rated to 10A (120 watts) so check that the air pump is less than this.
I use a self contained battery version that has plenty of power to adjust the pressure on all 4 tyres when needed.

Thanks for points this out. The inflator is 12 V, 180 W, and 15 A so thats a no go....

The one I bought is on the left. I've found it to be very good, easily adding a few psi to each tyre due to seasonal pressure changes and the otherwise usual TPMS alerts, however it is currently unavailable. A close match is the picture on the right.

I got the Goodyear cordless tyre inflator as I wanted a brand I recognised and that would hopefully meet the UK regulations for charging safety and not a corner cutting Chinese import.

Not sure if it was meant as a joke, but I just had to laugh at the 'corner cutting Chinese import'. 😂
