2021 MG5 Excite, MG app and api?

Hi, i have recently bought a 2021, 71 reg, MG5 Excite, with front grill pop out charge port. Can i get the app? I couldn't find a QR code anywhere on the car. Does the car support api? Chargers seem to be able to read the current capacity of the car. I'd like to be able to set max charge of 80% from the car... Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum, the pre-faclift Excite will not work on the app.
You can't set a max charge you will just need to time it right.
On a rapid DC charger the charge rate drops over 85-90% and best not to go above 95% on a rapid.
On a fast AC EVSE then going to 100% is ok and then it will battery balance which it needs to do once a month.

Thanks, really useful. Does ~5kW count as fast AC EVSE charge? Thats what we mostly use in a local lamp post. It will be good to be able to leave it to 100% once a month, meaning we don't have to get up at 6am. We only do about 200m a month at the moment. Should we do a battery balance less often in that case?

Fast is AC type2 so no issue in leaving it to 100%.
Rapid and Ultra rapid is DC CCS.
