So this past few weeks we have been getting around 205 miles on a charge, in and around Worcestershire. It's no longer dropping suddenly down towards the 160 mark as it usually did. It just drops mile by mile.
Perfect.

However, it's going into Gloucester MG next week for a it's annual service and MOT, at 45,000 miles.
What would they be quoting £450 - 500 for?
What are they going to do, gold plate the discs?!

Is this a normal service fee please?
Anyone else had their ZS serviced at this age and milage?

Thank you

I had my 69 plate serviced by Swindon MG in February on 30,000 miles for £313.
That included 2 bulbs, pollen filter, brake fluid, washer fluid and MOT. So I'd say that's very steep

I appreciate yours is higher mileage but I'd like to know how they justify that huge difference in price

No way! Shop around and also shop around for a service plan (can do it online), see what it comes up with. I'm now on a service plan, 4 years, about £19 p.m. direct debit. And £35 for MOT every year

I took my other vehicle in for a 6th Yr service suzuki with only 23k on clock from new got a service bill for £820.00 just oils and AC on Monday! Last two yrs I have serviced it my self! But do need to keep a service history as this vehicle has gone up from new by £10k to £27-£30k !!

If the air-conditioning is being serviced as part of the overall service that still may not be too out of the ball park. Although it is still a bit on the steep side. The air con can add anywhere from £199 to £250 or even more to the service charge dependant on who is doing the service. But to keep your warranty it must be done.

The service charges seem to go up every time. I paid over £400 for the 5th service this year at Waylands Oxford. But don't believe your 200 mile GOM, you'll actually get about 150 miles as you'd expect with about 10% loss of battery at that mileage. The service record will show what the battery measured at the service.

Yes Tim, they do have us over a barrel regarding servicing to keep warranty & breakdown cover. But we would have to pay for that if MG didn't provide that at each service for free.
On a slightly different note, I noticed there's a very interesting video by 'Kate & James' on YT concerning a 6yr old ZS EV that's been used as a taxi for it whole life. It has 238,000 miles on the clock. Interestingly the battery state of health still shows 93%. Apart from some wear to the seats & one or two other minor issues that included a worn engine mounting, the car is pretty fit. Drives ok apparently. A testament to how good these cars are.
