2nd service

That’s about the right price for a second service. Probably the same price at all MG dealers. I guess you could try servicing it yourself if your not happy with going to the professionals 🤷🏻‍♂️.
There are enough service posts showing the 2nd service well over £100 less than that from Dealers some dealers show there prices on there websites there are plenty of links in this forum but even a Google search will show you more realistic prices

Not convinced Bolts.

My ICE car was a cheaper to service, and lots more moving parts.

Of course I have to have it done by MG to protect my warranty.

The words "barrel" and "over" come to mind.
The law is quite clear, you can take a car to an independent garage for servicing, as long as they follow the service schedule and use genuine parts the warranty remains valid. So you aren't over a barrel and that's what I do with my vehicles and have never experienced any problems when I have needed to claim under warranty.

This is now a bit of a grey area yes standard manufacturer's warranty is guaranteed 3years but extended warranties are not and you will lose your AA cover that's got to be worth few pounds more for the convenience?

Surely you could have it serviced by any VAT registered EV specialist and protect your MG warranty?

You are correct, however, if you do have a problem with your engine for instance and it could be down to incorrect servicing or incorrect oil it’s down to you to prove (not for the manufacturer to disprove) that the servicing has been done according to the manufacturer specifications including the correct grade of oil, most independents use 1 or maybe 2 different oil grades, these may not be the correct spec for your vehicle. Plus you will have no goodwill with the manufacturer in future due to giving them none.
Personally I would always use the main dealer for servicing, most will try and price match if you ask, if not to the same price you will get it cheaper as they want your business

Just got my letter to book the second service as it's due in December, Do you still get the reduced rate for low mileage like I did for the first service? Present mileage on my ZS EV gen 1 is 2606.

Quick call to the garage & ask?
Maybe another quick call to another garage & ask same?

If you don't qualify for the low mileage service rates, then I have no idea who would, to be perfectly honest :ROFLMAO: .

Are you sure you need a car? 😁

LOL, Yeah it's a bit of a luxury but vital. We don't do much mileage per year but just those few miles are really worth having the car, We're retired so no commute or do we use the car every day.

It's mainly for shopping duties & endless hospital/clinic/doctors appointments for Mum and family members who don't drive.
The seat height of the ZS EV was important so as to get Mum in & out safely with ease, I tried using taxis but all of them in my neck o the woods are Toyota Prius & very low seat height, It's Impossible to get Mum in & out of them & trying to get a wheelchair bound person on a crowded bus is impossible, PTS (Patient transport service) is no good either as most of them wont let you travel with the patient or the private ones with wheelchair access are very expensive, £40 to travel less than two miles there & two miles back & you get a three hour waiting window for retrurn, Mum is hard of hearing & someone has to go with her to take in all that's being said to her.
Going to ring a few places tomorrow to see what the rates are.

Ah 👍🏻

Just a quick word on my first service at RRG, Stockport. I crossed the Pennines from Nottingham. It wasn't the romantic autumnal journey across the moors I had hoped for as it rained heavily with flooding on some roads. Happily in the ZS it is easy enough to relax into your place in the traffic so it wasn't stressful. The dealer's premises were smart and there was plenty of parking. The quality of the reception from the staff was first class and so much better than Stoneacre. There is a Decathlon (with a cafe area) and a B&Q just a short walk away so that was enough to fill our 2 hours wait. Pony nuts anybody? The next day RRG followed us up with a phone call checking we were happy. Will we go there again? Yes. If the price continues to be 'right' It's just a shame my service dates fall in December. One note of caution: when we arrived we were told the link to MG was down so software updates were not possible. That's not an issue for me as we got 'topped up' on the software in May but next time I will check their link is working before we set off.

That is a great piece of advise, thanks !.
We will be making a round trip of 200 miles in March 2023 when the first service is due.
That’s a long way to travel, to find that any updates can not be done !..
